I like the english dub because the change in how the words were pronounced and the delivery of that pronunciation made it seem like actual curse words in another language.

Seamless is absolutely the perfect way to describe it!!!! I haven't heard a dub this fantastic in YEARS. maybe even decades, the last one I heard that was this good was FMAB!!! This just feels so natural and realistic and conversational. I've heard a lot of english dubs that don't sound like that! like you can tell those types are dubs, you know?? but this just sounds so natural!!!!

according to a panel i attended for the eng VA, apparently the sort of accent he puts on for the curse words is the same one he uses for the characters in i believe it was skyrim? (it one of the elder scrolls games iirc)

This joke only works for the dub, but: "Dammit! The common language doesn't have enough curse words!" Ah, so that's the difference between this world's English and our English. lol. I like to think that, in another timeline, the original Japanese has him start swearing in another irl language.

Dub is better in this clip, mostly because it gives the exact right emotions and it's in a language I can understand. The voice actor did it perfectly, maybe it's because it's a moderately grounded show for a fantasy, I think English works for the series.

I haven't watched dd yet but knowing that this meme came from it makes me like it more 0:14

I think both sound kinda weird cuz IRL such cursing would not be singular words but rather whole multileveled descriptions long enough to equal a decently sized run-on sentence

Oddly I feel like this really showed why I think the sub actually feels so weird, the characters sound too serious for me. Yes this is a show that has alot of dark moments but the dub has much better flexibility when it comes to their delivery
