This is the sort of thing where Anime can transent the manga source material, to give deapth that text and still images can't. It also neatly highlights the need to good voice acting and music/sound talent.

To those who don't know the amazing context for these types of songs, blacksmithing requires a true rhythm to it. You have to in order to make the blade evenly balanced.

The history and culture of Katana having hymns sung and pounded in with each strike to make it stronger over the course of it's making is a wonderful thing that should absolutely be in more fantasy series!

medieval blacksmiths were actually very jealous of their smithing techniques and so encripted them on song. the rhythms of hammering the matel and the time needed for the iron to cool in water were calculated trough song

Never seen this anime but this song is incredible. Fantasy folk songs like this always grip me in ways modern genres of music can't. It's like a piece of the human spirit normally lost to time returns for a brief period as this song is being sung.

Yeah watched a lot of anime and this scene is very original and iconic

this was honestly shocking and i loved it instantly, blacksmith song thats basically old folk song which makes it so much cooler and gives chills

If I'm not mistaken some Blacksmith did actually had songs because they had to synchronize their move so they could make good usage of the hammer's momentum while swinging.

I’m a simple man. The Blacksmith Song appears on my suggested feed, I listen.

This is the dept and quality ppl expected from SAO. Hope this can continue

ahh yes. The Song of Hearthome. It is my favorit song as it pretty much the freljordian spirit and thr very escences of Ornn being the Forge God of Fire, Earth and Steel. But also his music pretty much fits for the good old Viking Scandinavien Blacksmiths

One of the best moments in this anime. Loved the song and imagery.

As a real life smithy, this is totally my jam, and utterly beautiful.

And its, sparks are flying. Passion strong. I AM the blacksmith singing the hammer and the anvil song.

I've been listening to this song to sleep lately and it has been very helpfull. I always had trouble sleeping usually taking 1 to 2 hours to fall asleep, sometimes up to 8 hours or just not sleeping. This song has something very calming about it. I love it and am very greatfull for it.

This hit's me this hard and good that I want to meet real blacksmith's that are taking their work with their soul. And See how's this done and to try too with them and with motivation.

This, this is a master smith, a man of his craft, just looking at his form, his mivement, his consentration , his voice, that sword has part of his soul in it, each clash is deliver whit the power of his spirit. The song, an epitaph of a masyerpiece being born into the world.

The animation was so amazing and then they added that magic circle to be forged and plus the song is f-ing awesome, its amazing to have a blacksmith while singing 😮😮😮

I thought I recognized that gravelly tone! His voice actor is the same as Adachi in Yakuza Like A Dragon! Already knew the man had a great singing voice from his version of Machine Gun Kiss, but this one really sounds like Adachi singing it, awesome!

I’d love this in a game, a blacksmith that depending on what upgrades you are doing they’d hum to fully sing. Each milestone changes the song or gets another part.
