Lmaooo "hummus" means "chickpea" in arabic so you're basically saying "hummus hummus". This is like the sequel to "chai tea" 💀

@Z so I’m gonna guess that “white people” say “chai tea” because they don’t speak Arabic, and two, there are countless types of tea. In the US, chai is in its own class. You wouldn’t say “I want tea tea” no you’d say “I want earl grey tea” same with chai.

to them hummus is mashed vegetable with tahini , because in their country there is avocado hummus, Red beet hummus, also they have chocolate hummus. They probably have more hummus variety

For all you Hummus Nazis out there . He clearly isn't Arab . But he's certainly diversifying his palate and his content . Which is more than i can say for any of you aggressors here . Leave him be . Add more garlic or ice or whatever it is that suits you . Let him do his thing. Always appreciate someone's hardwork.

Cumin makes such a difference ! I also add garlic cooked in olive oil and a few tablespoons of that garlic infused oil. Mama Mia 😋
Put baking soda in the water, that will break down the skins and you can skip that tedious process of peeling them. It works every time.

Don't. Changes the taste of the chickpeas. Boil from dry, the skins desolve without the baking soda

Add ice water right at the end of mixing to make it completely smooth. Little trick.
Pro tip: To make it even more creamier, use ice instead of water when you blend it. You're welcome.

Well done brother!, Though you should add ice cubes while mixing with a little bit of olive oil ( traditionally ) also hummus means chickpeas in arabic and after you plate it you should add a ton of olive oil over it so you dont get dry and the chunk feel Ngl it looks great well done

Hummus is the Arabic word for chickpeas, so calling it chickpeas hummus is like saying chickpeas chickpeas. Kinda of like chai tea = tea tea and naan bread = bread bread.

I don't think Nan equals to bread , especially when bread is this fluffy loaf . I can eat Nan by its own and that's basically what I eat for breakfast sometimes, but i can't swallow bread on its own. I don't understand why though, they both are basically flour and water..

I don't like coconut, and though I like spicy hot food, I don't like the flavor of curry. I've never tried a spicy hot hummus. I may have to try to make a Thai pepper/olive oil to pour on. I love chopped purple olives on top.
I liked the video, except the bandage rubbing the chickpeas part. But I love chickpeas and hummus, and seeing the creation of it made my day.

Handsome, one tip...add some ice cubes when u grind hummus,it will gv it a very creamy texture..
I am definitely making it and if you put that on some really good bread such as crispy Italian and you make a sandwich with it oh my God your mouth will be in love with you and so will you going
Looks great tastes greater with bandaid effect
Which brand of tahini are you using? Thanks for sharing. Happy healthy eating.🪴🥗🥒😋I’ll be making this this weekend for my friend.
Yummy. I am salivating.
There is no need to remove the skins for a smooth hummus. Plus not enough garlic. Use olive oil instead of water to help get it smooth and before adding the tahini you should wisk it together with the lemon juice separately before adding it ( the tahini thing is a little trick from my Lebanese grandmother. changes the flavour of the tahini) though I will say this is much better than Jamie Olivers attempt
Bravo
Love hummus
Will try out.

Such a genius idea to boil the chickpeas. So often they are so tough straight from the can. Great recipe! Will try.
Coming from an Arab woman… you need way more garlic lol that probably tastes so bland. And yes like everyone said, hummus is always made with chickpeas so no need to call it “chickpea hummus” 😂

Hummus in English speaking cultures is a little different, bean mash, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. I've made hummus with red beans, black beans, Fava beans. It's like Chai just means tea, but many varieties of tea are acknowledged with Chai being one type
@meenax7197
7 ай бұрын
@@Dragonballalmanac Oh really I didnt realise that English speaking culture get to bastardized the meaning of peoples languages and cultural foods. Hummus literally means chickpeas. It's not the same as saying chai tea. You literally are saying eg fava bean chickpea . Also there are Arabs who speak English rather than pardoning ignorance learn something
Yum 😋
Not sure I understand boiling canned chic peas. Maybe it's smoother without the skins, but when you're a plant based eater for health, you keep every little bit of our wonderful whole foods. Also you can enjoy Hummus without oil, and salt. A handful of toasted sesame seeds will substitute for commercially processed tahini. I use a pressure cooker to cook garbonzo beans from scratch. Takes about 20 min you can soak, but I don't plan ahead much. Plenty of garlic, and lemon some cumin. Add cooking broth to the consistency you want. You can thicken no salt added vegi broth, if you want that mouth feel of oil. Use corn starch, or uzu, or tapioca flour, regular flour, or agar to thicken... also cooking it down helps. Nice to see how you do it, but the closer we stay to nature, the better for health.

Best recipe even without cumin. Add kafir cheese and Allepo pepper and it's Lebanese
I usually add 2 ice cubes and two table spoons of milk in while in the mixer, does it justice.
can i add olive oil instead of water while blending?
You are so wonderful!
Good. That’s the common way to do it , but definitely it takes more than 15 min to cook the peas. After overnight soaking , it should take about one and half to two hrs to have the chickpeas quality cooking for this recepe. It should Bo over cooked to get smooth hummus
