Chicken Luwombo recipe | Ugandan local chicken steamed in banana leaves | the cooking nurse
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
steaming chicken in banana leaves with vegetables was a way to show respect, honor and also the effort would show how distinguished the person going to eat was, its no longer common that its nowadays a luxury to cook or serve this kind of meals, in this video i share with you my way of cooking luwombo and hopefully you can incorporate this in your family meals, to create memories and also make your family members feel special.

I have a very dear friend from Uganda. I’d love to prepare this dish for his birthday, can it be cooked in a slow cooker and for how long? Thank you 🙏😊

Same process in banana leaves? You can instead of steaming, bake in the oven for long,
Never had Ugandan food but this looks so delicious. We don't have any Ugandan restaurant in New York city ... Closest thing maybe Kenyan or Somali

But put it in a banana leave first then do in an oven otherwise you’re just braising or roasting something that’s not Luwombo
It looks amazing and healthy but it fails one thing pepper because I am a Ghanaia and we don't cook without it is my opinion thank you

In East African countries it’s an option we may not necessarily always cook everything with pepper, it’s something we learn as adults not kids
Very very impressive. I'm hungry. Invite us for a dinner or something like that? Do you Do events catering?

Banana leaves just don't get enough love in the cooking larger world. I blame Gordon Ramsay. That's it. It's his fault.

I hear you, because why? He gave fat the credit for being the flavor master but these guys are the real buddies.
What can you do if you don’t have access to banana leaves
