Thanks for the tip on letting the breaded meat rest before frying, I'll do that next time. The only other thing I do different is I use all the oil/grease and all the flour in the pan and make a huge amount of gravy, even if I have to use a bigger pan. It reheats well with just a tablespoon or so of milk and can be used for days on potatoes, other meats and even some veggies. Waste not, want not. Yum!

I recently made this as well. I did exactly like she said by letting the steaks sit after breading them and she was correct, the breading did not come off in the oil. It stayed on the steaks. The breading and gravy were out of this world good!!! I think the next time I do make this, I’m going to use thin sliced chicken breast instead of cube steak. I used cube steaks when I made this and I wasn’t too crazy about cube steak. To me cube steak feels like an acquired taste. So next time I’ll use thin sliced chicken breast and see how that does. I also think maybe thin sliced pork chops may be good with this breading too! Hmmm. But definitely another keeper! Thanks for the breading tip too! 😊

Thanks for this recipe. Like you said, it's very important to cook your flour until it turns brown (this cooks out all of the raw flour taste). If you don't, you will definitely get and overall flour taste, that you don't want, instead of the flavor you really want. I found this out by mistake recently. Thanks for all the tips, too. I am so glad that you had this video. I cant believe that i had missed it. I have a funny story....when I was younger we traveled to the States from Canada. We I had never heard of this Chicken Fried steak. I asked the waitress "is it chicken or steak?". She seemed rather ticked and said that it was "chicken fried steak". I just couldn't wrap my mind around it. I ended up ordering chicken fingers, I knew what that was. I had always wondered what it was. It was just too fancy for a Canadian bumpkin.... Now I really regret it. It looks delicious! I am going to give this a try. Thank you
I made this for dinner tonight. Im a transplant from up north to south. Even though ive lived here for many years, i wasnt "grown up" on fried foods. As an adult i dont incorporate them in my diet to this day...but i do love comfort foods. I stumbled across your recipe, its simple and is easily adapted to substitutes so its not so "heavy" nor saturated with fats that typically go along with southern fried foods...this was really really good! I did add in my "creole" seasoning i make to give it a smokey kick. Thx for posting this, hit the spot for a comfort food that wasnt too heavy and easy to make. We've been outside chopping trees and getting things ready for winter coming..this was so easy, not a intensive recipe to follow and didnt take long to make😍😋😁
Nice to see this. Thank you from Canada 🇨🇦

Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Thus is similar to how my grand mothers cooked this dinner. Many blessings to you all🙏
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! That's a beautiful gift! I turn 60 this month.
Wow so many tips I never knew. I'm 56 and learned to cook on my own. You are such a blessing.
Yummy! Ask this blessing, let’s eat! 😋
I love chicken fried steak. During my travels across country I would order this when I stop somewhere new. I have discovered that few places in the NW know how to cook chicken fried steak. There are lots of variations up here.
I’ve never heard of breakfast steaks. I am looking for a cheap meat and one that taste good. I enjoy your cooking recipes. Also your love of our Heavenly Father.

Wish I would have found your channel 45 years ago~!!!!
Love your down home southern charm and your Christian faith, and your recipe’s, great cook’n.
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy learning how to cook with you. I realise how funny that sounds, especially considering I'm 62 yrs old in 2 weeks, but I've been too busy working an out of pocket street ministry caring for the hungry and homeless to take the time to really learn the correct way to do things. I appreciate your down to earth, no nonsense methods. I can clearly sense your authenticity and love for our wonderful TRIUNE GOD... I am a street pastor who is completely SOLD OUT to KING JESUS, the CHAMPION of HEAVEN. May we ALL stand firm for the sake of righteousness

I was surprised to learn a year or two ago that an old friend of mine who I used to work with has never learned how to cook chicken fried steak. He knows how to cook all kinds of things that I don't know how to cook, but not chicken fried steak. We have lived hundreds of miles apart for more than twenty years, but if I'm ever visiting him, I'll teach him how to make it.
This is the first time I was successful making chicken-fried steak. My husband loved it! Because it is summer, and very hot, I skipped the gravy and we dipped it in bbq sauce. It was so good but when cooler weather comes, I want to make the gravy. May God bless you greatly today!
Great Video Becky ☺️ Thanks for sharing your time with all of us ❤️
