Chicken Coop & Run Build || Part 1 || Framing the Run
Chicken Coop & Run Build || Part 1 || Framing the Run
Today we are starting our Chicken Run Build. We have been looking to build this for quite some time. As a matter of fact, many of the materials have been on a pile just waiting for us to get to building. Since we can't seem to keep the chickens out of the barn, its about time we get these chickens in a proper home!

That cat loves Kenny. Enjoy seeing him interact with the cats lol. They know their loved by him and they own him.
Great looking run. My land is so hard to dig in. I never thought about building on block. Thanks for the idea.

Yeah... That was pretty much my problem too. Between all the tree roots and rocks, digging holes becomes a huge issue! Just means I'll have to be extra careful about the bottom edges.
The chicken run is really looking good. I can’t wait to see it completed.
I like the design. You gave me a good idea of how to build a storage shed by myself. I wouldn't worry about it being perfectly square - Chickens are gonna live in it. Besides, a lot of stick-built houses put up by "reputable" builders these days aren't square. They last a good 10-15 years before they start to fall apart. All best with your projects.
I like it. When you install the swing and monkey bars think about a entertainment center for evening activities. :-) Have a great day and keep on doing it.

Monkey bars and a bar! haha
Can’t wait to see it finished. I bet the chickens will enjoy it once you get the swing/s and branch/es in there. 😀
Man VS Cat. The Saga Continues. 🤣 Good info to have. I knew about predrilling to prevent splitting, but not drilling in the same grain was new info. Thanks!
pretty easy with those easy-ups.
It is beginning to look more like a chicken mansion instead of " just a coop" ‼️👍👍👍

@@LifeOnBeagleRoad LOL! Right? Hubby has a plan! We have an old "sauna" shed that previous owner made. Going to convert it into a chicken coop! Plus a run on other side of fence! I love how plans happen out if the blue!
subbed!
I like joist hangers, they make it a bit easier! Sorry hit her finger. Have great day!
Love this run! Do you happen to have plans for it?
Sure got some good laughs watching you Kenny and your cat helper. Looking good! I didn't know you could build something like that without posts in ground. BTW are those hot pink shoelaces?🤣🤣
@LifeOnBeagleRoad

Yes they are!
You know, I like the idea of how you did your corner posts. It's a chicken run/coop. Why bother with all the manual labor and expense if it's structurally sound? I have a bunch of concrete blocks laying around. I'm going to give that a go. Thanks for the video.
Seems more work to carry n cut... then to just cut twice in same spot. Hope Courtneys finger/hand is doing okay. Knee now hand dang shes all beaten up. Have a wonderful day 🌻🌻🌻

You would think... Basically I hate the circ saw! Her finger is good. Barely nicked herself!😂😂
I would move the coop first before adding stuff. So that way its not to heavy with all the stuff you are going to so inside.

Did you have to level the land or did the pavers do that? Can y’all come to Oklahoma and help me? 😅

what is the name of brackets used for attaching wood. Where can it be bought? First time at this. Thanks

Wellllllllllll, if you put the branch in before you cover it with hardware fabric you can get a bigger branch for them and not fight the door.lol

So I am going to build a chicken run, but I have a silly question. How do you make a slope for the roof so the rain doesn't sit on the roof?
@LifeOnBeagleRoad
2 жыл бұрын
Rise over run. You want one side higher than the other. This one is a 3/12 pitch
Dude.. I just keep getting distracted by the veins in your arms.. Ex ER nurse here and its like.. chickens chickens chick.. I COULD SO HIT THOSE VEINS.. chickens chickens..
Do you own a llama I saw one in the barn in the medical video
So for about $1000........
@LifeOnBeagleRoad
Жыл бұрын
$1000 is a bargain for a coop and run this size. Have you ever priced a chicken coop?
Black and Decker is garbage and Ryobi is second.
I like the content, but you could try to be nicer to your wife... maybe that is why she "disappeared".
