Yeah but the major difference being that Black Kids were terrible. I don't usually like to use that word to describe any artist but they came off as fake and trying way too hard to be in that hipster post garage electro dance rock scene à la Bloc Party that was popping off about ten years ago, sorta around the time the whole emo thing quickly faded away. Their only major hit sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. His singing sounds so forced and awful.

I first heard Chicano Batman on NPR. I love this track. It makes me think of my daughter. She's 16 and going through a tough time figuring out who she is, and I feel the sadness in the singer's voice as I watch my daughter grow and feel the gaps between the vision I had for her life and the life she's choosing to lead.

Chicano Batman x Negro Galacticus was an era that never happened and it should’ve. Great time for LA bands back in 2017.

This is such a beautiful song. Special thanks to the former friend who introduced me to it - even if we had disagreements in many areas, she had good taste.
