A firefighter died while battling a blaze at a Gold Coast high-rise apartment Wednesday morning, the department’s second line-of-duty death in the past two days.
The blaze began in a large apartment on the 27th floor around 7 a.m. at a high-rise located at 1212 N. Lake Shore Drive, according to fire officials.

You notice that too!No explanation on what happened to them, plus back to back deaths in different places in days. Has died fighting fire, was killed fighting fire is a big difference.

Remember that each firefighter going up those stairs was wearing about 45 lbs of protective gear and probably carrying a significant weight of equipment, probably while trying to breathe through a respiratory system. Stairs are killers.😢 I can't imagine why highrise buildings without sprinkler systems are allowed.
Didn't have injuries, probably died of a heart attack. My condolences to the family.
