Chicago Engine 61 turning out for a 2-11 at 6201 S. Ingleside
Had some fun today at the Engine 61 Museum & Fire Education Center in Annapolis, Maryland. The museum honors Chicago's "Smoke Eaters" of the 1960s and 70s.
We've had many suggestions and requests for a little vignette so this is just an experimental run, done solo today--not bad for an amateur!
So, here's the Engineer on watch, turning out the company to respond to a 2-11 at 6201 S. Ingleside. We're little slow turning out since the guys were upstairs taking a nap after a busy morning and anticipating a busy night.

Cool. This reminds me of the time we had a field trip to the science and technology museum and they had a real functioning fire engine cab with lights and full sirens and horns. Best time ever!!

Thanks for your very kind words. This of course honors the very tough firefighters of the 60s and 70s who were on the front lines while the world around them was burning. Great guys! Special memories!

It is
This was a little vignette I did by myself at the museum in Annapolis, Maryland just to get an idea of what could be done and to create a chance to learn how to use the video editing software. It's not a real response. Engine 61 was taken out of service on December 3, 2005.
The best thing is that 61's is an ALF Century Series engine, which are the best in the business (learned to drive fire engines on one).
I have an old ticker tape with key wind bells I got 'em rigged for test Ping-ping-Clang! sure reminds me of the smoke eating days...thanks!

As soon as you sit down.
Anytime you need actual people to slide the pole, throw the gear on, etc, lmk, im up here in maine but wouldn't mind putting on a little act for the museum goers day in, day out fyi, plus ive heard annapolis is a good place to live these days.

Thanks very much! I'd still like to do this scene over in a more professional way with a full crew involved. Remember, we are in Annapolis, Maryland.

Looks like an American LaFrance from the side view.
These firefighters are lucky. I wanna ride in one of those american lafrance fire trucks at my own age which is 14!

I'm sure your read what this was about. There was a two feet of snow on the ground outside the museum so I decided to fiddle around with my new camera and software to see how to use it. I was all alone so I was the lone actor and producer. Surely you understood that.
