Hey Faith! Chicago was/is a hugely successful band. Here's the short story: Been around since 1967, started as The Big Thing, then Chicago Transit Authority, and finally Chicago. The original line-up, IMO, is their best: Terry Kath: guitar (lead & rhythm); Peter Cetera: bass; Robert Lamm: keyboards; Danny Seraphine: drums; Lee Loughnane: trumpet, flugelhorn; James Pankow: trombone; Walter Parazaider: saxophones, flute. Early on, they opened for Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin. Terry Kath is one of the greatest guitarists EVER and it's mind-boggling that he is not near the top of every list out there. Tragically, he died just short of his 32nd birthday from an accidental, self-inflicted gun shot wound in 1978. IMO the band was never the same, they couldn't be, as he was such a force of energy and creativity. Since then, they've had various changes in line-up, are still playing today, they've released 25 studio albums. They've had many huge hits over the years with the different line-ups - but I still believe their best stuff is their earliest with Terry Kath. Definitely worth checking out the rest of their Tanglewood concert. BTW, 25 or 6 to 4 refers to time of day - was "stuck" while writing a song at about 4:00am. Anyway, Thanks for a great reaction, Faith. Much love! ️ ️ ️

The great Chicago lasted until lead guitarist Terry Kaths death in the late 70's. They are still together but were never even remotely the same band without him. Check out "I'm A Man and "Make Me Smile". Check out the documentary The Terry Kath Experience. You will learn all you need to know about him and the band.

You said it perfectly. There is so much good music!!! Watching reactions to songs I’ve loved over the years has introduced me to a whole new world of music I wasn’t exposed to growing up. I keep and open mind and if it works for me it’s a win and I tell 2 friends and so on..... Thank you for being so genuine doll. Love it. And the passion behind it.

Let’s put it like this..... Rock & Roll Hall of Famers w/ more “Greatest Hits” albums than I can count with most if not all “double” albums. It’s a huge rabbit hole.... jump on in. They started as Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and some of their best work is on that first album.

This song is probably Chicago's most famous song and is FIFTY YEARS OLD! The band is still going strong, but their sound drastically changed after founding member guitarist Terry Kath died after he accidentally shot himself. Please check out their debut album Chicago Transit Authority and listen to Terry sing on "Introduction" to hear his soulful baritone voice, and his guitar funk killing it on "Poem 58". THAT would be a great reaction video!

The title of the song, 25 0r 6 to 4. They were sitting around one night smoking and writing when someone asked what time it was and one of the technicians said it was 25 or 26 to 4 in the morning and hence the name of the song they later wrote "25 or 6 to 4". Terry Kath the guitarist has passed and Peter Cetera on vocals had a falling out with the band and is no longer with them. When they were inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame he declined the invitation to attend!

He didn't say, "Take Care!" - but he said, "Terry Kath!" - that was the keyboard player and writer, Robert Hamm that said it. Peter Cetera, Terry Kath, and Robert Hamm all had leads in different songs. Jimi Hendrix spoke very highly of Terry Kath. Sadly, in 1978 Terry took a revolver to his head, thinking it was not loaded... bang! Very sad ending for Kath. Please give a tribute band a try that does many Chicago songs, "Leonid and Friends" - if you watch them, not only do they sound very similar to Chicago, but they give Chicago a very solid name!

Hard to believe, but there were hundreds of bands/groups putting out music just as good as this in the 60s and 70s. Although Chicago was in a genre by themselves. Spin you up some Captain Beefheart doin' CLICK- CLACK live or Loggins and Messina ANGRY EYES live or Delaney& Bonnie and Friends with King Curtis and Duane and Greg Allman doin' ONLY YOU KNOW AND I KNOW live at A&R Radio. I could name you a hundred more but you are on your own journey to discover what REAL MUSIC is all about.
