I used the Conair version and was lucky to escape with my hair. So I kept the box when I got one of these. It is amazing.

Yes. My hair is thick and curly. It works and the curls lasted when I went out.

All that time curling and then not show any by doing an updo i never get that...

It can't fry when the inside barrel is lava ceramic infused. With Lava you can put lower temps and get higher temp quality so it's safer for your hair.
