I’m currently driving the last year of the first-generation Volt (2015). This car is absolutely…amazing! It is very heavy, handles the road like it is on a track, the car feels stable and solid. Quick as a rabbit! Easy to park, maneuver and is a great city car, no rattles, or squeaks so far. This car is built well, September 2023 I will have owned my car for 5 years and have only used 65 gallons of gas. My car gets around 40 miles of range on average per charge. I have only driven in "L" low gear since I owned it this way it’s able to regenerate my battery as I drive. Fully electric until the battery runs out, however that does not happen very often. With a 220v charger at home I can run errands all around town, then plug it in and within an hour I’m back at 40 miles of range. Lastly, I Love how quiet it is...I call it my Ninja mobile because it makes no noise…none. However newer models must make a sound when moving under 5 MPH. Mine came with Leather & Suede Seats, Navigation, Rear View camera, Red Exterior with Tan Interior, and front heated seats. In October 2023 I needed to have the software updated due to some errors codes that would not going away, had to take to the dealer, dealer charged $400 for the software update…other than 1 oil change and a 12v battery replacement, (just because it was 8 years old) that’s all the maintenance I have done on my car for the past 5 years…crazy. Highly recommend a level 2 charger for anyone that has a place for it...I drove my Volt for 2-years plugging in my level 1 charger, and I worked overnight...however I found a level 2 charger at a yard sale and wow what a difference. If I need more range in a day I plug my level 2 charger in and within an hour it jumps 15 miles within 2-hours it’s fully charged. It's a night and day difference, it’s like a new car...I was able to wire a 220 plug to my electrical panel myself so didn't have to pay to installed it other than some wire and plug. I highly recommend the Chevy Volt.

316K miles on my 2013 doing food deliveries. Still original traction battery but using mountain mode to keep the charge up so keep performance at it's peak all the time.

Have you had any major issues with it other than tires and the things you have to do on every other car?

hi, i’ve the same 2014 Volt with 104000 miles on it and every day drive 44 miles to work without gas in warm season of course but when I bought it has 71000 miles and one change used 10,3 kw and now it’s using only 9,9-9,8 kw. what’s about your? is it normal?

@@alaznispireli7481 it’s sounds normal to me.. as the batteries age sometimes we get less kilowatt usage per mile. Really depends on your usage of your air conditioning, what tires you’re running, and the air temp. outside.

Original battery in my same 2015 Volt. Rolling around 140,000 miles now. I got it used 3 years ago with 35,000 miles. Still looks and runs perfect like new and expect it will at 240,000 miles. Probably 340k & 440k too. I drive 41 miles to work, on batt, charge there and 41 miles back, in warm weather of course. Still only burns about 0.8 gal gas in winter round-trip. Replaced original tires at 80,000 miles. Still has year just down to the 2mm minimum and actually gripped well even in snow and ice. I had to replace 1 rear brake pad, due to it cocking in the caliper from not being used (I regen slow 99% of the time unless it's emergency braking (which is PHENOMENAL). Prev owner avg 132 mpg lifetime. I averaged 57mpg over 99,999 Trip ODO limit because I take long trips every weekend I must run plenty heat for the wife (and the rest of us at times). I put 52,000 miles on it in 2021 alone. My favorite car I've ever owned including a manual 2017 Corvette Z51 Convertible!

I am driving my Opel Ampera (the european brother of the Chevy Volt) now for almost 10 years, and I absolutely love it. Now buying my daughter a used one from an older lady, with 56.000 miles, from 2012, for around 9.500 USD. A pearly white, like mine, Cosmo (I do have the e pioneer Edition, with navigation, leather, Bose-surround sound, backup camera - the Cosmo has all of that, but with one exception: No navigation) model. It´s the best and in my experience cheapest car, I ever driven (and I am now 56 years old, and have driven many nice cars in my life). In addition to that: Also due to the relatively low sales figures in europe and mainly in austria (around 260 cars sold in total until 2015, which maybe 50-65% are now already gone, so maybe just around 100 left all over austria) a real classic, with rising used sale prices every year going up.

Right on… the amps are awesome looking ! 9,500.00 is a steal also most of the volts in Carolina’s are 10,000.00 if in good condition and low mileage.

@@micmac2800 Absolutely incredible tech, the first really practicable electric car, which was all day usable, due to his range extender. I was looking for an BMW I3 first, but then recognize the disproportion between price and what you get. Especially the "range extender" in the I3 is a bad joke: A two cylinder motorcycle engine with 34 horse power. Which allows to drive around 45mph, when the battery is drained to the lowest. :D After that, I kind of "stumbled" over the Ampera, and fell in love with it. Since then, I use it for all day driving, and even on holiday trips to italy, croatia, with no problem at all. Driving up to 105mph on german autobahn ;)

@@alfwaibel4773 you did the same exact thing I did before I brought my volt. I was looking at a BMW I3 myself and found out the same situation. That’s what got me hooked on the volt. Not to mention you can pick up a volt way cheaper in the used market then you can a BMW I3

Any idea why my 2014 volt only charges to a max range of 27-29 miles? It’s got 160,000 miles on it and when I first got it a month ago it charged to 29 miles now under a month later full charge is at 27 miles :( I sad

There's a lot of things you have to look at when you look at your charge rate. Do you run your AC a lot. Is it on high. Do you use any of your regeneration low gearshift. Do you run your heat too much. Do you live in our hilly area.? it could have some degradation to your battery. Look at your lifetime battery setting.( on the radio screen under economy button.
