The only possible "fix" is with the code for the radio.

I have a CHEVY Malibu 2014 , I had the same exact problem. After 1 hour of trying to fix it I finally got it. None of this worked for mine. What worked in my car is I turned my phone off , deleted all the paired devices from the car & unlinked the car from my phone . Cut the car off, waited about 15 minutes, started it back up paired everything back up again & now it's working perfectly fine !!! PLEASE CHEVY FIX THIS GLITCH IN MYLINK !!

@@DaylyDriverDayly yess. UPDATE 2WKS** It still does it every time I connect it will say "PAUSED" But now all I do is pull my notification bar down click the bluetooth off, then cut it back on. Soon as I hit the bluetooth option on the screen then press the play button on my cell phone 8/10 it starts right up

Best fix ive been doing with my 2014 malibu 2lt is closing the app and opening again and press play and it should work. Much easier than doing all these steps 👌🏾

Same here! I don't pay a monthly payment for my damn car to glitch out this is b.s!

My won’t allow pairing from the vehicle. Can click on the pair logo on dash and will light up bot not attempt to pair. Then won’t even attempt to connect to phone already paired.

Thank you for posting this... this happened once before with my 2016 Equinox and I kept restarting the phone it was a very frustrating... I turned my car off to go into a store and when I came back out there it was working. But I completely forgot and it just did it again and you reminded me that I had to turn my car off, so thanks again!!❤❤❤

If you wish to avoid it, turn on the bluetooth on your phone AFTER the entertainment system has booted.

Well, that was disappointing. I was expecting an actual fix. Chevy really crapped the bed with the crappy Bluetooth in these cars.

Not a “Fix”. Just a workaround.

Turn your car off. Remove key from ignition. Remove all USB cables. Open drivers door all the way for 5 minutes. This resets it and you’ll be able to delete devices. No lie.

Anyone know how to fix this on a 2020 Malibu? My phone connects and says paid but when I click bluetooth it says no device conntected?

What do you all recommend doing if my microphone seems to be non-working in my 2020 Equinox? On phone calls, I can hear them with my Bluetooth synced but they can’t hear me. I have Apple CarPlay & this has been the case since I bought it almost new with 1500 miles on it. Am I missing a simple step? Please & thank you🙋🏼‍♀️

I have a 14 LT and this happens all the time to me. I’ve actually started just connecting with a auxiliary cable. I found that getting out of the app you’re on(I use you tube music) and getting back on works but who can do that 50 times while driving? Also there is a delay and if you quickly scroll through songs it gets confused then stops if that makes sense.I also noticed sometimes when I turn on the car the screen will be black for like 10 seconds before starting. I might just get Apple car play installed. It’s annoying when you pay for all these features they don’t work.

My 2015 Malibu LTZ has same problem. Only real fix is having a dealer replace Bluetooth module. I used to work at a Chevy dealer, this was a very common problem with the MyLink radios in Malibu, Equinox, Cruze that have same generation radio

What kind of radio do you have? My 2015 impala says BT-SR currently unavailable, it connects to Bluetooth for calls but not for music

One thing that I’ve notice to work 100% of the time is if you switch to your radio and then click the media button (brings it back to your Bluetooth setting) after you hear the radio make sound it goes back to your Bluetooth also making sound on the song you have selected. (Thus obviously working again cause you can hear your music)

This is what I've done since 2014. I would never shut off my vehicle and do all these steps. Lol I'm looking for a more permanent fix than radio back to media.

This problem is easy to fix, pause the and play the sing in your phone without even shifting. This solves the issue for me without shifting

i had the same problem all i did was went into my iPhone Bluetooth settings and select forget device then get in your car and go into your phone settings and select "pair new device" wait a second and confirm the pairing number that's on your phone and cars display, Boom you'll have connection. apparently with multiple connections the system get clouded and forgets. hope this helps! keep in mind that its not the cars fault this can happen with any device with blue-tooth technology this is meant for the one who stated that it only happens in a chevy! i'm only trying to uncloud the misinformation.

Does your Bluetooth work Daily Driver?

Mine works fine until something happens like I run out to the car without my phone to warm it up. Then it refuses to play unless I cut the engine off and restart. Very annoying.

This happens to My Silverado All the time. Specially when i get a notification or something else plays in the background it misses up with the music playing ▶️ on Bluetooth. Then i click play it looks like music is playing still but no sound. Smh

My 2016 Malibu LT just decided it will connect then immediately disconnect. None of these things are working. I've even tried resetting my phone, (note 8) and resetting the radio in my car by pressing the radio power button for a few seconds. It will connect to my dang iphone 6+ but not my android.. total crap. Nothing in the owner's manual mentions reset options that I can find. Fxxking irritating.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right so there's a few ways about it com you can do what we did in kind of just go back-and-forth with pairing and and pairing. I would say go ahead and erase all devices on your Bluetooth see if there's any update available in settings if not then try doing the update on your phone, if not that then unfair everything repair it Is it the common consist after that then you're gonna wanna go to the dealership any Chevy dealership and ask him to do a update on your Bluetooth and firmware in your system. C and that will solve every issue with that they're just needs be and update done to it

Play can rambled on from the video more less than answering the question the best thing for you to do is go to a dealership and have them update and/or reset your system. You can also go to the app store and if you have onstar in your car you can connect to their application and it me update that way you just have to download the app and connect it to your account. The serious FM update may always help. To him so because this is like a Malibu impala issue as well as like a couple other little things it's like the small things but super frustrating, the one thing I would say is try going to the applications and cynical connect with any of the apps in your vehicle as in on star, or Sirius xm, If none of those updates work rendered the ocean. I honestly would have just started there but I wanna see if there's any of the other ones that help if that continues anyone to try other solutions let me know I am gonna keep digging and see if I can't find anything else for you to resolve this.

I'm having an issue when i have my phone connected and parked watching videos using the car speakers to play the audio the video on my phone and audio are way out of sync

Usually happen when in driving my 2016 Malibu LT really sucks. It keeps happening. I have to wait until the mylink resets itself.

I have a 2015 Equinox & never had an issue until yesterday (Mar '22), started playing Spotify through bluetooth & suddenly..'PAUSED' on my screen. Sat & tried all of the tips...nothing. NOW my bluetooth & AUX are grayed out & I cannot even select it anymore when I scroll through 'source'!! This vehicle was paid off 3 yrs ago, now crap is starting up...no new car note for me!!

Mine keeps going back to the radio. Wow I’ll try this, I’m sure it won’t work but I’ll try anything by thing at this point.

Mine is just grey and idk how to fix it

My Chevylink in my 14 Silverado does something similar to this. Easy fix for me is to reclick the song I’m playing from my iPhone. I can also click another song and give it a min then reclick the original song. Sometimes it cuts out here and there

@@jamesstrong593 it’s so annoying but I think it has something to do with it the song is actually saved to your device. Songs from my library that are saved don’t have this issue as much as songs that aren’t downloaded to my library. Maybe it’s just me lol

I’m actually upset that your method worked for me. I have a 2015 equinox and upset that I have to do something like this. I tried updating the software on my link but you need a USB. Anybody know anything about this?

I'm glad it worked out for you on your car. it's an unfortunate thing that you have to do this in order to correct the problem.

I’m having a similar issue with my 2016 Chevy Malibu. What’s funny is that what happens is that when I stop at a red light and the car goes into “auto stop” it continues to play, but when I push on the gas pedal and the engine restarts… the Bluetooth disconnects and then automatically reconnects a 30-60secs after. What even more weird is that this was happening , then suddenly it stopped happening for a few months, and just the other day it started happening again 🤷🏻‍♂️

I remember when I had the tape deck cassette plugged into my iPhone 3 and never had a single damn problem.

Mine says fully connected/paired etc, but no sound! Several times and each time it seems like I've got an extra step but now I'm at a loss!! Grrrr 🤬🤬

Guys I have one too and another fix on iOS is going to ur tool bar for me iPhone XS Max right corner pull down and click the icon where ur music plays and change from phone back to the car and it works lmk hit like to help these ppl

voice prompt may be an on-star thing or you could try pairing again its really not that hard

The Older Mylink systems and basically Iphone XS-12 don't work right at all. It has been broken for the past 3 years.

Try doing voice command "Bluetooth Audio". Much easier

My Bluetooth doesn’t even come on in the car anymore 🥴

Not sure if this is a joke...but it's an issue with the built in wifi and Bluetooth being used at the same time. If you disconnect from WiFi, the Bluetooth works fine.

2014 Malibu in this video doesn’t have built-in wifi. 2016 is when built-in started for Malibu’s.

One day when it was my birthday I brought home a Chevy Silverado and it happened to me as well I tried a playing the music but then it paused

I lost all my menu buttons. Like nothings there at all.

That is happening with my 2010 Ford Expedition , can’t even use the aux

Happens all the time with my 2014 Chevy Silverado. Sucks!!!

It's much faster to turn the Bluetooth on your phone off then back on. It's worked almost every time for me. I've ran into so many issues with the Bluetooth on my Equinox that I just purchased a Bluetooth to FM converter and used that for music.

I have a 2014 Malibu LT and the bluetooth has been giving me hell. Audio cuts in and out. Frustrating as hell. I’ve come to the conclusion that this 2013/2014 bluetooth technology is just not getting along with the new iphone bluetooth technology of today. I have iphone 13 pro max.

Just pause the music n play it back n it comes back on.

what the fuck, my Camaro the Bluetooth, Pandora, Aux and USB buttons all became grayed out...i gotta try this, weird issue with heat as well.

Everybody just turn you car off. Take the keys out of the ignition. Unplug all your USBs and open the drivers side door for 5 minutes. It should reset everything. This is not a troll. Just try it and comment below if it works or not.

When it happened I worked out that it was the car I didn’t have it running I just pressed the on button

I have this as a rental. A 2021 Malibu and I’ve never seen a car so finicky with Bluetooth and carplay. What a POS car this is. It’s not wonder why it’s discontinued

I can't play music in my 2015 Impala, I ended up buying a bluetooth transmitter ($20-30), however it's annoying plugging it in and mounting the phone, so I'm just going back to USB.

This is NOT the quickest way. Open up your KZread app and play a song through it. It probably won't work. Click the next button or select a new song. Now, it'll work perfectly and you can resume your regular music. It takes maybe five seconds. No need to disconnect and reconnect or turn off your vehicle or shift out of drive. You can do it without disconnecting and you can do it while driving. Give it a shot and let me know if this works for you. There might be an even faster way, but this video is DEFINITELY not the easiest or fastest way.

Mine connects and says it’s playing from iPhone and it shows on the screen that it’s playing but no sound. Hit radio and the sound works fine. Switch back and get nothing. 40k for a fucking radio it should work without having to play this bullshit game.

Just stop and restart the song on Spotify, takes half a second.

All you have to do is one your phone disconnect from the vehicle then reconnect. No need to do all these steps
