I use a mirror (10" X 12") and a light - lay mirror and light on floor pointing up near lift point but not in path of hoist arm swing / placement. Swing arm to correct position and in out adjustment and observe where pad is and will contact in relation to lift point contact area. Once all four arms and pads are located lift vehicle to where it is just supported off floor and recheck with mirror and light as well as perform bounce test on front and rear to make sure vehicle won't teeter totter on hoist. If everything looks good then lift vehicle - if not lower and correct problem area(s). I don't bend well and knees don't like getting dirty anymore thanks to psoriatic arthritis.

When you mentioned a half sized metric socket to remove the lug nuts having that useless shiny metal wrap i remember my son and working on his car few months ago where we live 25 miles away from town and couldnt change his blown tire. Couldnt force any lug wrench or socket to work and used a small cold chisel to get the last 2 lug nuts off. As soon as your mentioned that socket set i had to look it up. Im ordering a set to have for my kids and grandkids cars cuz i know its gonna happen again. Now i will have to rewatch the video cuz you talk faster than an old fart can search. Thanks you taught and old dog something new or made him aware of a solution.

Also, I think I've mentioned this before, my old car had swollen lug nuts, found out when I was in for a simple tire rotation the shop thought they were going to break off every one of my wheel studs trying to get them off (thankfully they didn't) - replaced the entire set with McGard lug nuts, never a problem again until I sold the vehicle. Highly recommend them.

Just want to say that I enjoy watching the show. I think you're super sharp. Wish there was one of you in every town. I would like to mention, after replacing my timing belt on my Saturn with the j35 Honda, I think the mystery on the crank bolt is the heavy spring washer. Take a look and see that it's slightly concave. The threads are only torqued against it. I did not have a sufficient torque wrench along with my weighted socket to do the job. An easy way out on that is to put your breaker bar on and wedge it against the suspension and then bump the key. Works every time.

Heard a bang driving my 13 verano on a smooth road. My mechanic figured a broken spring. I bought a pair . Turned out both were broken in same spot.

That 2016 Impala is on the Epsilon II platform. I think the other (called the Impala Limited) is on the old W-body. I think they made them both in 2016. GREAT VIDEO!

The Limited, despite it's fancy sounding name was the stuff of rental car fleet fodder, made from 2014-2016 if I'm not mistaken, overlapping the new body style that began in 2014. If I owned one and needed parts, I would just tell the guy behind the counter it's a 2013 to avoid the confusion!

If a spring has stamped text/art nr it usually mounted so you can read it.

Nice to see you use torque wrench when finishing. Not a lot of people do that these days

Great video, wish it was longer ha. One question, when you're jacking up the car without the tire on, how do you know when you've reached ride height?

Wood block on the trans jack..."you can't fix cars (or motorcycles, or airplanes) without wood! I used to argue with a guy who would gather up and throw out all the pieces of wood around the hangar, to "make it look neater". Ya gotta have wood!

If one uses a portable spring compressor be very careful and use a quality compressor..when I was in auto trade school one of the students tightened a coil to tight and broke the took..No one was hurt after the coil was launched across the ship 😮

That was quite the easy job, take out the bolt, take out the spring and now do it in reverse order !!!!! Repeat for the other side spring !!!!! Yes, that's an Easy Peasy !!!! What would break a spring like that ??? Giant caverns in the paved road, failure of NYDOT to fill in the potholes for a few years like Pennsylvania does ???????????? Bet ya the car will ride nice and smooth now !!!! Love it when Luna makes a cameo appearance, she is such a little ham !!!! 😃😺😸😻👍
