I’m loving the recipe. But is the amount of honey is too less for a cake?
Did you forget the Salt?
Really! 4 cups of water (1 Liter)!? That bowl does not even hold that much? More like 2.5 cups.

one teaspoon of honey?? it will turn up super super bitter! There is sugar in the original recipe, and quite a good amount!

Hi Valerio, Castagnaccio is a traditional dessert prepared with some variation in three different Italian regions (Emilia, Tuscany and Liguria) and whose true origin is unknown. So I really don't think you have the original recipe. It is an autumn dessert that is prepared with new in season chestnut flour. The cake prepared with this recipe using Italian flour is not bitter. We often prepare it with various types of chestnut flour and it never turns out bitter.
