    Yo… you obviously put in the work and much respect for that! Jeff obviously puts in work and respect for that as well. I’ll say this… the world is full of people (generally speaking) of people that are ready to blast another person. I’d suggest connect with the dude! Learn and potentially train with the dude if he’s open to that and make a real assessment of character once you have a full understanding. This fitness world is HUGE!! I like Jeff’s material but I’m a “Fan” of NO MAN!! Even though I don’t necessarily agree with your particular approach, I can rock with your material too!! Respect ✊🏾 Fam!

    @Ryan Miller At some point don’t you have to hold yourself accountable though? I’m pretty sure any sane person would know they aren’t going to fill their shirts just working out arms for 22 days. Also like the dude said before, most people watch athlean x to get information on workouts to build their own workout routine, i’m not looking at the amount of weight he’s lifting because i know when i go to the gym i’m going to go for a weight that is suitable to me. I’m just here to see him perform the workout and inform me on what he believes is best. I don’t think anyone should just get information from ONE fitness youtuber tho. People should get opinions from multiple sources and make a plan on what works best for their body. Not just off what jeff or any other youtuber for that matter has to say.

Yea, there’s some lean guys than can move big weight but generally that’s not the case and you know it. Jeff is at 170 pounds. And again, it isn’t the pressing that’s suspect, it’s how easily he’s moving the weights into position with literally no leverage falling back. I believe he can press 90s, he better be able to, that’s chump weight. But I saw the same thing as Johnny, where he just kinda toyed with 90 almost seated, then easily rolled them off and set them down (on the original vid of Jeff’s). That’s something I don’t even do, and Im 30 pounds heavier and can press 120s on flat. I stand over the weight and safely pick them up together, like Johnny does. You don’t reach for a 90 in your weak hand while almost seated and yank it up lol. Worth noting Jeff has been caught and accused many times for fake weights. For like 4-5 years now.

    Difference is because if you straighten up your elbows, you have to put in more torque for the same weight. It is recommended to keep the elbows bent so that you can use same torque for the entire range of motion instead of putting extra in the end, which would become a bottleneck. In short, this guy’s suggestion is clearly not a good idea and it baffles me people are buying this.

    I've seen some smaller looking guys lift heavy weight that even big guys struggle with, so there's a possibility that it's not fake weights. Size does not proportionally equal to strength. Besides, if you wanna argue this point, no point trying to argue with us commenters. Just set up a meeting with Jeff, and roll up there to test if he is as strong as you. You make sure that if he is, you can handle that fact. Edit: I will admit that you are correct in claiming that focusing on fewer exercises or doing cardio is probably the best way to get the most out of 20 mins. But if you know Jeff, he likes to work on every muscle group that he can which is why he's showing us that many exercises, but more importantly, he could probably do all of those in roughly 20 mins, so he's asking us to do the same.

    I have to agree, at least for me (can't speak for others), that 20 minutes of Chest workout twice a week did help grow my chest (my chest workout is part of a larger workout, but chest only amounts to about 20 minutes), if only a little bit (which can be explained by the fact that I'm not a new lifter and 100% natural, so growth will be much slower for me). Also, I have to disagree with Johnny about the cable crossover, again, at least for me... I do see and feel a difference in chest contraction between stopping shoulder width and crossing over. The "interior" of the pec gets more contraction when crossing over than when stopping at shoulder width, or thereabout...

  • @Ilethsamael

    @Ilethsamael

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@praeothmint2273 there are 2 things in this that need to be pointed: 1-in that position cable crossover is almost ineffective at the top of the movement due to the cable position. 2- the protraction of the shoulder gives one or two more inches of mobility for contraction. It is different for people that have a large chest and I think it would be better to make a superset where you hit pecs in the protracted position with proper mechanical engagement.

    Athlean X is so informative! So informative that it's almost annoying!🐸 I've watched many of his videos! But didn't or couldn't apply any! His workout style seems like disagrees with my body! So I do things my way! And it seems like it's working pretty good! So, keep on doing whatever you're doing and however you're doing it! You're on the right track! Don't change your workout style after listening to someone else! They don't know you, they haven't seen your body! They don't know what works for you the best. They can only show what works for them the best! And just because it benefits them, that doesn't necessarily means it'll work for you as well! Yes, you can take some ideas about certain workouts. But do it your way!!

    I’ve watched Jeff for years, never once have I noticed or even cared what weight he is using. I don’t think the amount of weight matters when he’s showing form. Also how does anyone know how long it took him to film that? What happens if he took 3 days to make that video? So I just don’t get the people hating on him. Jealousy? Resentment? Not sure. Also I don’t know if or when, because I’ve never heard (that I recall) if Jeff has ever mentioned what amount of weight he uses or for his viewers yo watch. That’s my thoughts anyway. Think about that. Peace.

    Don't get more activation from the pec by bringing it across the chest? Adductioin is a primary function of the pec and fully shortening the fibers by adducting your arm across will allow for a greater contraction. Hence, taking myosin and actin cross-bridges to their greatest degree of contractile force allowed. Greater contractile range, more efficient reps. This concept goes for all muscle. A fully straightened knee is the only way to allow for full contractile range of a quad muscle. Check out EMG activity studies.

    Yeah I agree as a physiotherapist as long as there is a contraction of muscle to reach that full ROM it means it is contracting to reach that full adduction motion. I'm a fan of Jeff if he uses fake or not weights it does not bother me. What important he is technically teaching you what could be the best form of exercises you can do.

    Yea exactly it’s really about what works best for you and preference, no hate on Jhonni I love his content but I feel like these videos on Athlean X are a bit excessive at this point especially for a guy who hasn’t really said much to them at all or wants any drama. I swear there used to be a time where Jeff was looked at with respect and high regard with the the knowledge he has. I don’t understand where it all switched because of some fake weight bs as if his information wasn’t still applicable and used by many others. Love both of these channels but I feel like both Greg and Johnni are milking it at this point because all channels have great information.

Which is why I don't understand his need to constantly use fake weights. Why does he insist on doing that?? It undermines his credibility and just turns him into a joke. He can demonstrate good exercises, good form and give good information using real weights, even if they're lower weights. This is not a competition. Damn it, Jeff.

Well maybe they don't make fake weights that are "lighter", because the whole point of fake weights is to look like they're heavy. I dunno, just some thoughts...
