Chemical's UPDATE with Xenon? - Nucleares

Ойындар

I explain in great detail how a PWR Nuclear Reactor works using short Car analogies as well as an In-Depth 'Scientific' tutorial on how an actual Reactor works in terms of what it's fuel does and what things are created in waste materials plus much more if you intend to play this game any longer with the New Chemical's Update.
Lots to Explain as I get the reactor started and running so I've tried to do so but as per my normal style... I forget a couple thing in the process so comment below and ill be sure to reply as I always have previously

🍫Episode Notes...
It was very hard to record this tutorial the way I did and I'm sure I've made a couple mistakes along the way to which I will correct in future Episodes (mistakes concerning Terminology etc.)
I really hope the extra car analogies help like it did for a friend of mine when trying to explain how this all works
I can only hope I did well recording and explaining it all in the way I did...??? Let me know how I can improve or if you think I did good? :)
Overall I did many failed takes at this recording and by the end of it my brain started to hurt but needed to get something out to you in the meantime I will be testing and releasing more videos like this in Nucleares :)
Please comment any thoughts or opinions on how or what, you, do or don't like about my Channel or Videos as I'll be sure to reply and apply them in the future (I make these for YOU, my viewers)

Your description of the steam issue is backwards. A properly configured PWR has a *negative* void coefficient, that is steam bubbles actually slow down reaction. It's a fail safe approach so if somehow you lose pressure, the reaction should slow down automatically (though not stop). Thus the pressure is required to maintain reactivity.

Not sure if that is modeled as such in the game. The same with boric acid being a neutron poison - a lot of reactor designs have an emergency dump system that injects a LOT of boric acid into the core to stop the reaction in case of something like a rod failure. It will trash the core and the pipes, but at least prevent the core from exploding.

@Stoney3K it is modeled. If you let the pressure drop you will find the reaction almost stops. It's a great way to try and fix a reactor with damaged control rods...

Void coefficient is effectively steam displacing water. Which is your moderator, therefore less delayed neutrons and less reaction.

Endothermic means the reaction pulls energy from outside to complete the reaction, which in this case if it is endo it would steal heat from the reactor. You said Sodium hydrox with water creates lots of heat. This means it is an exothermic reaction, which will also be bad for the nuclear reactor as it interferes with the "radiator" of the figurative car. Just did a quick lookup, we're dealing with the latter. Keep that radiator cool!

I am just a diesel mechanic. Nuclear power generation seems simple. I am however a jack of all trades and have been called a genius by many i know so maybe it is complicated to many but its just a bit of chemistry, physics, and electrical to me. On this game i currently have 338 million and everything fully upgraded. I know this game is not completely acurate but it is very simple. No instructions or tutorials. i figured it out pretty quickly. I have not downloaded the new update yet. I definitely will tomorrow. I like this game. Honestly, i dont think nuclear power is very much more complicated than an internal cumbustion engine and aftertreatment.

Yeah I agree, just alot of stigmatise on the whole Nuclear subject but when controlled by non insane people (cough Chernobyl) then all should be good and safe Great game so far and I've been having a 'blast' playing it haha

@ShArPy1o1Games not bad, i would call the pressurizer the radiator cap, it keeps pressure in your engine cooling system and without it you will boil the coolant away until the engine overheats. Other than that yeah pretty good analogy.

Interesting choice and makes sense... I chose the supercharger as its somewhat similar as they both pressurise for better performance, or at least that's my short understanding which is quite little 😇 Thanks heaps for the comment and especially for the reply 😎👌

I'm suspecting that blank space in the leftmost area will get a different panel, more complete electrical breaker panel perhaps? Also, it's a little curious that the resistor banks aren't just tied into the secondary cooling loop or the condenser loop. So you can use more resistor banks at a penalty of having more demand on your coolant circuit. Are you able to fix resistor banks if they are blown now?
