In a sport with so much abuse (often by men) we need more female leaders like her

I wish she would’ve continued her comeback but I also am happy Chellsie is in this position.

I hope she eventually takes over the entire program. This woman is the complete package; experienced athlete, experienced judge, family woman, authentic, encouraging yet also has high standards...the list goes on and on.

If I’m not mistaken she’s basically considered the replacement for Marta’s old position. I could be wrong

Geeeez Chelsie seems to literally be the perfect person for this job/role. She has so much wisdom, even when she’s just being chill that is doing way more than trying to force things to work out

It helps that she also was in the position of these athletes and it wasn’t TOO long ago that she can’t remember/relate.

Especially since she just competed a couple of years ago. So, she knows personally what is needed from a more recent standpoint. That's even with updates for new quad.

Being she Lived it And is an Awesome Woman she is perfect for the job…or women, there’s 3 total, Alicia Sacremone.

Chelsie is EVERYTHING we knew she would be in this position. There aren't enough ❤s for her. She strikes such a good balance between constructive feedback/review and positive affirmations.

Chellsie seems totally in her element in this position! She's great at answering these questions, so direct and clear-headed.

Ahhh so glad chellsie has a big role in USAG! She has such a good perspective

OMG. This woman is amazing in everything she does. We love her in the judging panel, we love her as head coach, we love when she's competing.

Having Chellsie who’s an actual judge and can really work with the gymnasts on execution and squeezing every tenth out. She’s absolutely perfect for this role.

Chellsie, You are such a NICE person ... with a core of steel. These young gymnasts are in very good hands. Thank you for working with them. :--)

Loooove Chellsie! So happy she decided to take this role on.

Even when she teaches her Chellsie's Gymfit classes she's so welcoming, down to earth, fun and thoughtful.

She always seemed like a genuinely nice wholesome person

I cannot wait to see a vault score above 15 again. So tired of the regression due to the way the COP is structured. It's effectively kneecapping innovation (especially on bars and beam), which leads to boring gymnastics. May as well make them do compulsories and call it a day. The US fielded a team with 4 Amanars in London 2012. Over 10 years later I can't think of a single gymnast doing one. Thanks FIG!

Chellsie has such a great perspective. Soooo happy she's in this role!

Compared to the Cheng (5.6) and the Amanar (5.4), the YDP is valued at 6.4. The YDP is an amazing vault. Do we think it’s really worth a whole point higher than the Amanar?

I completely agree with everything Chelsea said she's right on the money with all of this, the artistry is improving, but we have much more room to grow. We need a lot more improvement overall. We are very strong as a team.

Chellsie understands all the demands of elite gymnast. She will always have these ladies backs!

I love Chelsea so much as much as I really wish. She was continuing her comeback and competing. I am so happy she's in this position. They shouldn't, she's all around the perfect person for this job.

Kinda sad, im a huge fan of hers. But it’s like she forgets when she was a gymnast….

I just don't see that this new format with Chellsie and Alicia has added anything to the program.

Seems to me and most gymnastics enthusiasts that they've added a lot of compassion and care for the gymnasts, which, given the controversies of the last ten or so years, are probably much needed.

@@twebster9498 I agree with @Bxyxox that without being insiders, we can only make assumptions, but with Chellsie and Alicia in charge, the team got their sixth World's team gold in a row, a gold and silver on vault, silver in the all-around, silver in bars, silver and bronze on floor--all without their ace, Biles. And if the gymnasts are feeling happy and not abused on top of that compared to before, that seems like a pretty good contribution to me.
