The Chinese character for his last name is "周". Like he said "Jiu" is his grandfather's original spelling in English but some inbred moron at "immigration" probably decided to have some fun with old men Jiu when he came over as a young boy. In Mandarin it is spelled as "Zhou". This is due to slightly different pronunciations between different dialects in China, but the Chinese character itself is one universally.

Ann seems like a happy, loving person. She also seemed to be a little nervous. A lot of the time Brandon's friends had no problem talking over her. I believe that because she is so attractive, people immediately jump to nefarious conclusions. Opening a restaurant is one of the most stressful things a person can do. Especially their first one. A business cant be as successful as Mister Jiu's with out the owner having solid support. Ann & Brandon appear to have a strong partnership. I would go as far as to say that this relationship is the backbone of Mister Jiu's success and vision.
