"Anybody's who's worked in a kitchen has worked with that guy at least once" my dude I was a busboy for half a year, our kitchen had five of those guys

My niece is 9 and she LOVES to cook. She also is unable to distinguish bad receipes from good receipes yet. She wanted to surprise us by cooking a receipe like the one she saw on tiktok. "So delicious" - that much english she understood and she wanted to try. She spent hours unbeknownst to us to decipher the english receipe - she has english as lessons but isn't that advanced. She figured it ALL out on her own, which is an amazing feat in itself (native language is german). Then she bought the ingredients with her pocket money and started to cook. She just happen to caught one of those absolutely trash receipes and it was genuinely awful. I've never seen somebody THAT dejected and sad because "they said it was nice", so she had to be unable to follow a crap receipe in a foreign language. We spent a week to console her, she was THAT down. Needless to say: She doesn't want to cook anymore because she is convinced SHE did something wrong, since THEY said it was delicious. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE those trash cooks who would cook the contents of their garbage can after letting it ripe one week for clout with a burning passion.

@@chefreactions Right on it. We now live together, so one of her regular chore is helping me cook - trying to make as much fun as possible when we do it. I love to cook. Hopefully that's rubbing up on her sooner or later Oh, and we're also teaching her now the difference between good videos and bad videos.

Or just go the old-school way by buying a personal size bag of Fritos at the local 7-11 and pump in chili and cheese +whatever other toppings you want from their dispensers. That was a staple late-night lazy meal during college (early 90's). nearly the same result in 30 seconds for less than $1.50.

That's not a substitute at all. The entire foundation of what he made was the pastry and ground beef... You're excluding 70 percent of the recipe in favor of gas station food. Do you watch people make pizza and tell them to just microwave some pepperoni and sprinkle some cheese on it instead?

The stuff they put on shredded cheese is cellulose, which is, essentially, wood pulp, so sawdust. And why not heat the chili after the meat is cooked and THEN put it into the pie shell?

Pre-shredded cheese isn’t that much more expensive than brick cheese, you save a lot of time, don’t have to wash your cheese grater, and there’s more variety. Where can I find a brick of 4-cheese Mexican blend? And they use starches to prevent clumping, not sawdust. I’ll admit it doesn’t look as good cooked, but if you ignore that minor aesthetic detail it’s fine.
