Cheesesteak on the Blackstone Griddle (My best one yet!)

Want to know how to make cheesesteak on the Blackstone griddle? This awesome and easy griddle cheesesteak recipe will be your new favorite sandwich to cook on your flat top grill, whether you have a Blackstone, Camp Chef, or Pit Boss!
Now let me be clear... I am NOT saying this is an authentic Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. This is the best cheesesteak I've ever made, the way that I like it! And that includes onions, bell peppers, banana peppers, American cheese, and provolone cheese.
Start by cooking your veggies on the griddle first, because once you start cooking your ribeye, it will cook very quickly. You don't want to overcook your steak while you're waiting for your veggies to finish cooking.
Once your veggies are cooked to your liking, go ahead and start cooking your ribeye for your griddle cheesesteak. I actually cut off some of the larger pieces of fat from my ribeye first, and cooked those before putting the rest of the meat on the griddle. Cooking the excess fat like this added extra beef flavoring to my cheesesteak and extra seasoning to my griddle. Win win!
After your steak and veggies are cooked, add a few slices of American cheese and let that combine with your meat. Then, form your cheesesteak mixture into the same shape and length as your bread. Top the meat and veggies with a few slices of provolone cheese, then put your bread on top.
The key is to let the fat and moisture from the cheesesteak mixture flavor and steam your bread on top, so be patient. Then, watch as I show you how to get all of that meat on to your bread the easy way.
Hope you enjoy this Blackstone griddle cheesesteak!

Bro, I just did this almost exactly like you did and it was phenomenal! Only my second time using a griddle too! I don't normally comment, but felt I had to. I wanted to say I appreciate all the great vids you and your wife put together. I have watched a bunch and they are certainly helping me be successful right out of the gate with my new to me griddle (previous owner thought it was too hard to use... glad he didn't find your videos! haha). Seriously, thank you.

Hey Neal! I just got through making my first cheesesteak. Used the exact same preparation and steps as you did. Only difference is before I added the provolone I added some chopped pickles just underneath it that I seasoned with salt and pepper. Came out so tasty! Thank you so much for the recipe and all of your informative videos.

Those banana peppers are a great idea - need to try that. Cheese steak sandwich is my favorite thing to cook on the griddle. I put steak in the freezer for about 20 minutes which allows me to slice in very thin with ease. I’ve also ditched provolone whose flavor gets lost in the mix and now slice up some mozzarella instead - tons more flavor. Keep up the great videos!

I'd like to see you try this exact method but using some type of hard crust roll removing the softer center portion of the dough. I would give it a go myself but I dont have a flat top griddle. It looks awesome!!

Thank you for sharing your video 📹❤️📹.. You gave me awesome idea's making a cheese steak on my griddle. It's sad the meat is so expensive $$$. I'm going to do the samething with ground beef or chopped up chicken breast. Rib-Eye steaks are 10-14 dollars a pound at walmart and other places. Your cheese steak made me so hungry. Again thank you chef for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️. Absolutely delicious looking. 😍😍

its about 45 min to work from my fave cheesesteak shop, I'd order 6 of them and bring into work for the guys on my team. they were animals!!! i ended up learning to have them double wrapped, but by the time i got to work the temp was perfect with the juice throughout the bun, and those things would be gone in minutes!!!!

Awesome job guys. We used the crap out of our blackstone this weekend. We had for kids down and 12 grand babies. We made about 24smash burgers Friday night then we made a package of hotdogs all was gone but 1 burger. Nana and I didn’t even get one but we like feeding our babies. Then Saturday morning we made pancakes and bacon and I did fried potatoes with onions and garlic in the black stone it was crazy. And that’s only half of the g babies. May have to have you come down with your grill on the 4th of July and help us cook.

I have some initial thoughts. 1. Its really uneven temp wise. The middle gets real hot and the sides not so much. 2 It loud. I know it sound weird, could be the noise hitting the house but its still louder. 3 Still no a fan of the grease trap being in the back plus you cant see how full it is. 4. I like that all four legs have wheels, makes moving a lot easier. 5 the hood gets hotter that expected. I don't think the Pitboss gets that hot.

Good take on a southern boy’s cheesesteak! Given that your accent pegs you as clearly NOT from the Philly area, you actually did pretty well. I worked in several steak shops and pizza joints just a few miles south of Philly, in cheesesteak Mecca. Yours looks like it would be delicious, but what you have made is the THIRD version, a “steak and cheese”. Though similar to a Philly cheesesteak and a regular cheesesteak, the thick/large cut of steak and toppings, the super duper soft bread, and the ratio of cheese to meat to toppings puts yours in the S&C category where I come from.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH MANNNNNNNNNN, that just looks absolutely TASTY & AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! You`re making yours almost identical to mine, with the exception of that i add mushrooms in with the peppers and onions. Yes sir, american (sharp) chedder an provolone. I see you`re back on the BLACKSTONE! Did the pitboss not work out to your expectations? Personally, i like the cold rolled steel tops far better vs ceramic coated. Old Skewl bubbie!

No nothing like that at all. In the process I was upfront with pitboss about my future plans aboout having the ability to cook on multiple griddles. They accepted and now i just cook on what ever i feel like that day. Once i get a feel for the pitboss and blackstone i will do comparisons videos and do cooks on multiple grills to compare as well
