The Flat Top King

The Flat Top King

Griddle recipes, flat top grilling tips, and griddle reviews - Whether you have a Blackstone griddle, a Weber griddle, a Traeger flat top grill, or any other outdoor griddle brand, you're welcome here! We're one of the only griddle cooking KZread channels that cooks on ALL of the different flat top grills, so that means we have a ton of experience with a wide variety of brands.

I’ve been cooking since I was old enough to reach the stove. From fine dining to fast food to upscale steakhouse to preparing 3 meals a day for 3,000 hungry sailors as a cook in the U.S. Navy, my culinary career has taken me to a variety of kitchens. Now my favorite place to cook is right in my own home for my biggest critics, my family.

My ultimate goal is to teach you how to make amazing, restaurant-quality meals on your griddle or flat top grill, so come hang with us on the back porch!

There’s just one thing. If you want to duplicate a Pat’s steak, you never, ever chop it! The original is NOT chopped! I repeat, not chopped! It’s slices of rib eye. The cook at Pat’s will NoT chop, even by request. If he does he will be fired!!!!!

I do the same seasoning with my carbon steel wok, but I use lard instead of oil. The lard gives a harder seasoning than oil

Philly. You never called it a Philly cheese steak, only a cheese steak. Why do so many people have a bug up their butt about you calling it a cheese steak?

Thank you! You and your wife have the best relationship… would it be possible for her to do a cook and then have her narriiate or your twll heer how to clean as you go. I am a strong and amazing cook. But your videos of you all cooking together as a family really helped my brain understand the deets (if that makes sense). I know ow you all have the “extra” fans but it’s great to have a channel which has actually helped me. So that is an idea. 😍

This is a great alternative to a Miami Cuban sandwich. I am a Cuban-American (amongst other things) and grew up in Miami. I am currently in SC and buy my Cuban bread from Publix. While not authentic it is a good replacement. Most Cuban sandwiches do not use mayonnaise, however. Cuban sandwiches are my favorite sandwich.

I was feeling like an idiot making hash browns either Frozen from the bag or fresh but running into all the problems you showed. I mean it's potatoes how hard can it be? You showed that the details really matter! I'm gonna take another crack at it. I do have a laser therm and a Blackstone.

If I wanted to spend 500-800 for a flat top why not spend 50 bucks for an indoor griddle and 300 for a real gas grill or smoker …?? This is just another FAD that I won’t be participating in. So I’ll keep my grill that I have had for 15 years and save my money and keep grilling the best way to cook.
