He was the 1st player I had met at the venue and he was unbelievably humble and gracious, imho anyway he seems like a really nice down to earth guy. I really hope he does well after the switch to cuetec as he seems to have an uncharacteristic miss or two in him every match since the switch, which may be affecting his confidence time to time. There is a video on YT. It's $20. Earl Strickland and Allison Fisher played extremely well on cheap $120 cues. Watch the old videos of these players and see how good they played on old equipment. The newer equipment isn't much better. If you're good, you can pick up a $150 cue and run racks after racks. For most players, practicing will improve your game much more than buying a better stick.

Thank you
He’s one of the best in the business, a grate pool personality.
love the guy .... great interview
I also play with one of the Cuetec Avid cues, and he is right you cannot beat them for their price! Hits real good..I love mine!
Skyler is really likeable. very down to earth and humble. one of the best players. really enjoy watching him.

Agreed. I must add Alex Lely and Niels Feijen are very good too. Probably Niels is my all time favourite.
Sky uses the 12.25 mm shaft, which is now sold to public. I got this shaft after using 13 mm for years on my old Cuetec. I love the Avid 12.25. It's the perfect size. I tried 11.8 carbon fiber cue which hit well...but could stand the taper. I also tried the 12.50 Carbon stick. It's ok as well, but I can't get used carbon fiber. It's harder for me to control the cue ball.
Love this stuff!!!!
Still using a silver leaf Dufferin I bought new in 1978 for 120 bucks. Still straight as an arrow.

A solid cue treated well kept in the right environment will last many decades, I have an embassy peradon over 25 years old and still straight smooth and slick.
Great video!

Wow, that is a very reasonable priced cue and break cue
Well done Karl.
One of my favorite players.
Skyler is such a cool cat. And MOST surprising is the reasonable cost of his equipment: it's truly affordable for mere mortals like us.
Karl- giving his buddy the frat boy treatment- l laughed
Goes to show you that expensive equipment doesn't make the player. Now I can't say it's the cue's fault when I miss 😂

11 consecutive 9 ball racks were ran on a cheap $120 Cuetec that Earl Strickland used. The record still stands I believe for an official tournament. There are higher numbers, but not in tournament play. His cheap stick was a wood coated shaft, so go figure.
Ha you can hear it in Sky’s voice “can you believe I have to shoot with this crap for the cash they pay me, I mean I love it”
Earl would be great , I’m sure he got some interesting stuff in his , from the real thick shaft to the golf wrap on the back end

Would be awesome to bring a little postage scale to these bag vids. Would be really quick to get a on the spot weight, particularly on the playing cue.

You got all the goats there! Make everyone do a whats in the bag 😂😂
Nice one!
I would be more than interested in seeing what a matte black forearm, joint collar and butt cap version with four semi glossy black points and an extended solid black irish lenin wrap would look like. A lot of players all around have been waiting for a cue like that.
Coming back and rewatching this again lol... The question I keep coming back to is when is Cuetec going to release the 12.25 mm shaft for the Avid?
Off the table so soft, calm, gentle, smiley, cool; on the table pounds them full speed throughout😅
What break cue is best also do any cues which are pro ones have screw on tips ?
Busch needs to sponsor him!
Can you do Joshua Filler next?
What a nice guy.
What an awesome guy, he had me at “case of Busch Light” 😂
Cuetec is one of the best budget cue brands out there
I started playing pool with my Dad and after getting him a real cue (instead of the terrible house cues) I definitely needed to pick one up for myself cause he was wiping me off the table. The first and only cue that caught my eye at Billards Factory was my Cuetec that I walked out with. Its the AVID Era SP 95-323LW and every time I whip that baby out i feel like rock star hahaha! I think its so beautiful. I wipe it down every time I pull it out or put it away. Id be STOKED to be sponsored by Cuetec, wish they were Made in US though :/
GET EARL 🙌🏼✊🏽🔥
I wonder how these compare price wise to the JFlowers cues Earl shoots with?
Would love to see Seoa in this
He seems like the nicest guy in the world. Geez
I got a cue not too long ago like 4 week ago in about 3 weeks I was fully used too it idk everyone is different I a just it pretty fast but that's just me

YESSSS!!!
I’ll be looking to get a Cuetec break cue now. Im serious

Woodward has a lot of shaft
Just hearing his voice he sounds like Johnny Archer
…and a couple of Sharpies, in case you want an autograph. 😂😂
I wanted to say I don't think what Sky playes with matters. They aren't the most expensive cues, but cuetec is a major brand and he plays well with them.
I never knew world class player play with cue below $500. This is a brand we advance players can take into consideration.
What? No Elfen bread, Mithril jacket...? No ring to rule them all?
Think I read somewhere that Efren Reyes just played with a $15 cue..or something cheap

Naoyuki Oi has some really different cues compared to everyone else
