Cheapest Generator on AMAZON 2024 - But is it WORTH IT?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Unearth the secrets to tranquility with our latest video, exploring the most budget-friendly and whisper-quiet generators on Amazon! 🤫 Whether you're camping, working from home, or need a power backup without the noise, we've got you covered. Dive into this comprehensive guide where we evaluate noise levels, affordability, and real user experiences to help you find the perfect silent companion. Don't let noise disrupt your peace - discover the silent power you've been searching for!
The ACEUP 2300W inverter generator currently holds the title as the least expensive quiet inverter generator on Amazon. I decided to put it to the test alongside a Honda EU2200i to determine if this portable generator, priced at just a quarter of the Honda's cost, is worth the investment.
You'll have the opportunity to witness and hear the distinctions between this budget-friendly generator and the Honda. We'll explore not only the disparity in noise levels but also the overall sound quality, as one of them is unquestionably more bothersome to listen to than the other!

Bought my 1st Honda 2000 generator on June 2001 Have over 11,000hrs on it. Pull rope replaced once and two spark plugs. Oil change every 100 hrs and still runs great. I do have a second Honda 2000 so I can parallel them together for A/C in my 5th wheel trailer.

Bought my first Harbor Freight Predator generator in 2015. It has 9 hours on it. I ran it for an hour to break it in and run it for 1 hour a year, changing the oil at the end of each run. It's for emergency power outages which we seemed to have have had a lot before I bought it, but none since. It'll get another hour in June 2024. In fact, I've had to replace the runtime meter once as it's battery operated.

@@janofb Hard to believe in this day and age.....but concerning the Harbor Freight item, I believe if you buy the extended warranty, you can return the generator for a new one, no questions asked ! When I first heard this, " Too good to be true ", I phoned my local Store and spoke to the Manager, and he confirmed the exchange program ! The Predators seem to get good reviews, and I believe they too can be run in parallel ! Have a friend that purchased one, and was surprised how it ran for something like 10 hours before needing refueled ! Not sure what kind of load he had, but his is quite happy with his ! And it would be hard to complain about their exchange program ! 👍😉 Just Say'n !

I did the same thing in 2022 and the one I found was $225. Looked very similar but it was light blue in color and had different controls. Luckily for me I thoroughly examined it before actually trying to start it. I added a little fuel and started smelling it really bad immediately afterwards. I had to completely tear it down to access the fuel tank. What I found was a bad O-ring on the fuel outlet that was dripping fuel directly onto the front panel's electronics. I fixed it with a new O-ring easy enough, but if I had started it and walked away (like you would with any generator) it would have at least destroyed itself and possibly burned my house down too.

When you take it to a small engine shop and they laugh in your face, do not say I didn't tell you so. I refuse to work on this type of equipment. Finding parts will be impossible. If ANYTHING goes wrong within 5- 10 years, good luck. At least HONDA has been around for years and I can still get parts for them. Throw away mentality here.

A properly built foam box or a box with noise canceling materials inside can make a very big difference as well. Of course you need to make sure there are holes so the unit can breath and heat can escape. I've seen a basic foam box with one side missing make a huge difference (that pink insulation material), you could barely hear it at all- just face the missing side of the box away from wherever you are going to be- that gives it lots of breathing room and all the sound is directed away from you, and in hot and/or sunny places it gets a bit of shade/protection from elements. You could always add a low powered fan to it too or maybe a box fan (pretty sure they're very low power)

I could see it for a trailer/camping, but not household backup. These things don't reduce the noise that much. I found the most effective noise suppressor to be distance, as in putting it in the garage on the far side of the house away from the bedroom with an exhaust extension to the outside. For the price of this "quiet" generator, I got 4400 watts and can run the whole house off that.

We power a travel trailer with it and use the trailer in temperatures as cold as teens or 20’s during hunting season. When gas soared over $4 a gallon that really saved us money.

The Honda is running at a lower RPM in all the tests you did.. that would probably indicate lower power output from the engine... Should also do a a max output load test to see if it will even do the rated amount. Harbor Freight often has deals on similar generators.. You can get a warranty and a local place that will exchange it if it breaks in that warranty time. For the slight premium in price there I would probably do that. I have a couple HF gens.. one tailgate model.. a little 2 stroke one.. its over 10 years old.. still runs great. I added a small fuel filter and changed the fuel line to some better stuff when I got it. The second is a 2400 Watt Inverter gen... also works great. One feature that seems to be missing on these now.. is a separate fuel shut off.. If you are not using them regularly.. being able to drain the carb of fuel by running it dry will vastly lengthen its life before a cleaning is needed.. especially with ethanol fuel.

Living in a state where non-ethanol gas is not available at the pump, my first questions for any off brand or cheap generator: Are spare carburetors available? How Much are they? and How easily are they changed? One thing about Honda is that their parts are ubiquitous. Ont eh other hand, I do like that this unit does not seemed to be hindered by the ticking clock of a non-user replaceable CO sensor.

When the power is out you want to power your main thing that is going bad after a few days. Your refrigerator, tv, lights and charge cell phones. With any grid down or an emergency situation when you don't have power for a few days everyone's having a cookout. Because there's stuff in the refrigerator and freezer is going bad fast. After that everybody's rushing to the store to wipe out what's left if any is left at that point of groceries. Trying to run this cheap Chinese inverter generator for a few or several days when you've got a lot of money in the refrigerator and freezer. And on top of that is vital. You be lucky if you could run a full size refrigerator freezer with this Acer. But the Honda 2200 does and I've tested it on a 50 ft 10 gauge extension cord a full size refrigerator freezer. also with a big 19" fan running and kicking on a Skil saw. Honda is commercial grade. You better buy a few of these cheap Acer generators because if you go the cheap route you're going to need a few spares when they break. I first went the cheap route and bought 2 new cheap Chinese inverter generators and they both run on propane. One was the dual fuel and the other one was propane only. If you know anything about fuels propane is superior to gasoline. It doesn't have all those gasoline, carburetor, needle and seat, stale fuel, hard to start, no start, flooded engine, crankcase full of gasoline and more gasoline problems. The 1 dual fuel New cheap Chinese inverter generator I had stop making power. The overload light would come on right when it would start up it would still run but it would not make any power. The other small portable generator propane only. The engine locked up you couldn't pull the cord it was extremely tight. I've lost some time and money but the valuable lesson I learned. You get what you pay for and this is when I went with a new tri-fuel Honda. That I only run propane on because it's the superior care free fuel. That's been years ago and I haven't looked back since. Hondas are so good and extremely dependable and built for longevity. I now have a few of them. And of course all of them only run on propane. I even sell Honda tri fuel new generators on the side. On Facebook Marketplace if you're interested in one leave me a message thanks. You can also look up my name and search Honda eu2200i in Roanoke Virginia on Facebook Marketplace in the search bar. The price is 123, 456 and has the blue rubber cap beside the carry handle. I've got a few ads on Marketplace.

I have a Honda 3,000 watt and when I run it on quiet mode it makes a big jump in RPM to run a close to full load. Every time it does this it trashes the clean sign wave power and kills my wi-fi!! Sure if I run it on normal it doesn't do this!! I also burn a 5 gallon tank in half the time too! I found a work around! A stand alone battery to run the WI-FI. It gets charged by the generator but no spike in the power when a load hits the Honda. This is an amazingly stupid mess for a $2,400 honda to keep doing. I just replaced that Honda for $2,400!! Exact same one too. Why replaced because the Honda store put the wrong oil in and overfilled it!! Amazing service!! I'm getting a Kohler 2 phase 10kw that runs on natural gas next!! I'm 68 and too old to hump a 90 pound gasoline Honda out everytime the power craps out!! Back in 1960 the house was new and the power only went out once. Today in 2024 the house is 64 but the power craps out 8 to 10 times a year!!

Great video dude except for one or two very big bloopers but more about that in a tick but for me personally the EU2200 Honda Generator is by far the best choice as far as noise level and performance is concerned with a realistic run time between 3.2-8.1hrs albeit shorter than the stated 10hrs from the running time of the AceUp AI 2300 which as most of us can agree there needs no further comparisons nor introductions that should be necessary. Although if you are being entirely honest in respect of your presentation dude then you've kinda let the cat out the bag so to speak when you stated at 1:23 'and just to let you know this is not a sponsored video' which certainly does not come across as entirely accurate revealed by the hashtag alone. It's only when we are being presented with the AceUp AI 2300 generator compared to the Honda EU2200 then the blatantly obvious elephant in the room is in your statement dude that you made at 3:05 before immediately recommending the latter for the Honda generator but with no AceUp generator in sight, would it not be fair to say that if this is not a sponsored video then could we ask you to pull the other one dude?? 😆👍

The usb issue you claim is actually not, what is happening is the most popular charging cord is usb to usb-c this is the most average used around the world especially rhe USA. This is because most people buy devices of middle and economy versions. High-end devices and newer as of now have usbc just takes time to catch up. And it's proven usb-c are easy to damage so also low end products support what each other used. Its just simply facts.

The real issue is long term reliability and repairability. Assuming that it works out of the box and is not defective, the performance of these is not far off from the Honda. Also, for occasional use, this type of product will probably last for some time. But if/when it breaks it could be difficult to find parts. No product is perfect. I’m sure even Honda has its share of quality issues, but they are actually repairable and maintainable over a long period of time instead of being disposable.

When renting is very difficult to soundproof these types of noise because of the vibrations they cause. Decoupling is the only way to get it done with the use of a resilient channel. That’s not feasible when renting.

I have burned through 10 generators in 9 years and I'm here to tell you the ONLY generator to stand the test of time, use, abuse, hours and reliability is The Honda. I'm over 2000 hours and counting without doing anything but general maintenance. ALL other generators start falling apart at about 600 hours. You'll get another 600 out of em after a bunch of maintenance then kerput. HONDA is the only generator to buy if you depend on it. I've been off grid for 9 years and I'm very hard on EQ. I can't seem to break that HONDA.

It’s simple. Honda is more expensive, because not only are you paying for the generator, but you are paying for the research and development plus the the Honda name which is known for reliability. Ace up is a Chinese company. China has no copyright laws. They are literally ripping off Honda and undercutting them. If Honda goes out of business (which they won’t) they will be biting the hand that feeds them.

7:55 Honda quality controls their stuff in the country its sold in like Apple. That chinese junk will vibrate apart in under 1000 hours. The chinese saying "If you can cheat, cheat" is all over their products. I got a tecumseh generator 3kw for 40$ permanent magnet. It makes pure sine too. Inverter just regulates voltage if the motor surges. You have to have another country involved in the making of products in China for it to be 'ok'. If its purely chinese its in a landfill in 5 years.

I remember drills being used for 30-50+ years at home. Now with low-quality "Made in China" many construction guys buy a drill for one job. A couple of weeks - and throw is away. Apple CEO seems to be lying when saying "cheap labor is no more available in China". Otherwise how they could make such a generator for so cheap? Items that lasted for 10-20 years now - Made in China - last 2-3-5 years. Then you buy from them again. And... the Chinese, they build roads and bridges, houses - that will last 50-100 years. They buy the best industrial equipment from Germany, US, Japan - and then will come to destroy the remaining car industry in Western countries. Then they might say "You can't survive without China, so... make concessions" - in any conflict. See how Biden administration is ready to make a lot of concessions because capricious Americans prefer an extra $100 saved in few months on gasoline - over ANY freedoms, humans rights and even their own national security. Trump was even worse on that. FYI, US is importing from China ONLY about 2% of its GDP. And could be making 90% of those items at home. Same for EU. For few hundred bucks saved a year (not always - given the durability), Westerners gave a lot of power to China. Sorry for off-topic - partially.
