Aw the days when musicians played their own instruments, wrote their own songs and performed all the way live. Love live rock n roll!

It is a Fender bass V. It was a model with a high C string and it was only produced for five years from 1965-1970. It has fifteen frets and it was also used by John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin for a brief period. I'm shocked to discover that Tom Petersson used one on stage.

Yup, I saw them on this tour in the early summer of 1979 in Spartan Stadium in San Jose CA in front of about 30,000 fans. The loudest Cheap Trick concert I've ever attended. And I've seen then over 25 times live. Absolutely incredible show!!!!!!!!!

That's a Fender Bass V Tom is using. Wow! I have only seen JPJ play one. The Waterstone basses are cool. Not as sliky out of the box as the Chandlers, but sweet nonetheless.

Tom pretty much played the Hamer 12 string bass on the 79 tour. And to be honest, I've always thought that Tom's Chandler 12 string bass that he used from around 94 to 97 was his best sounding bass guitar

I believe so. He did not like the quality of most of the basses they made for him and he went from Kids basses to Chandler and now Waterstone who produces a signature 12 string.
