Aloha Late Boy Scout. Great idea. I use the Uncle Mikes 9-shell holders, and you are right, carefully cut the stitching and it works perfect. I used cuticle cutters, does a neat job. Slipped one over the stock of my AR-7, so now I have 3 magazines inside and 3-4 magazines outside. For you Judge shooters, I use the same 9-shell holders for the .410/45LC and slip the holders over my forearms. I also load them up and put them in pouches or pockets, ready to wear. I empty the shelves :)

Aloha TLBS. Quick update on the magazine holder mod for the AR-7. Because these magazines are straight, can get 4 of them on, just leave the middle loop of the 9. Modern 'Henry Survival Rifles' hold 3 magazines in the stock (tho only ship with 2), older vintage AR-7's only held 2 in the stock. I can slip 3 of the magazine holders over the outside of the stock, with 4 magazines each. When ready to use, just slide 2 off the stock and onto your forearms, 120 rounds in 15 8-round magazines :)

Thanks for the great idea ! I did it and now my fv/sr is a sweet looking and practical shooter ! Now looking to put a cheek riser on my rifle but dont want to loss this mag carrier. Any suggestion ? I want a TAC PRO® Kydex cheek riser . How can i have both ? Thanks.

GUNZLAW I did this to the same rifle & it works great but also needed a cheek riser. Haven't ordered it myself but I think it's exactly what you're looking for. It's called the wildmarely cheek riser ammo pouch on Amazon. Check it out

I want to thank you very much for thinking of this ideal are modifying the butt stock sleeve to fit your clips for your gun I just bought one and I tried it out and it worked perfectly for my gun. I wanted to say if you think of any more ideas or aftermarket stuff that we can buy for our guns can you please leave everyone a message letting us know about these ideals. or any products that we can buy for our Savage 64 22 long rifles.

I wish you would have covered the feed problem these mags are experiencing, and possibly a solution for it. Really like the rifle, but reading about the magprobs, well its a deakiller...
