    Thanks for your time and effort, excellent presentation. I have same rifle last few years, except mine have wooden stock. In my case Eley sport, club and match ammo give me great results, many times less then 18 mm groups (5 shots, 50m prone position) . This rifle is more than enough for hunting small game under 100 m, even good enough for some local competitions.

    I have the American rimfire in 22LR and the compact version in 22 WMR. I upgraded both triggers with a $10 trigger spring from Mcarbo. It dropped the trigger pull to 2# in the 22LR and 1# 10oz in the magnum. As for ammo my 22LR likes the usual mini mag HP and CCI std vel, but the real surprise was CCI Blazer. It is as cheap as bulk packed ammo, but comes in 50 round boxes, and except for the occasional flier that you always get with non match ammo, shoots as well as most match ammo in my rifle.

    Love my Ruger American 22 mag 18". I also installed a Timney trigger and sent the barreled action to 300below for cryo treatment. The consistency gains left me in disbelief. Saving up for mdt chassis and a suppressor, then this project will be finished. Thank you for your time and efforts!

    Hello, great video, thankyou for posting it for everyone to see. I have a ruger American rimfire compact version and i have the exact same scope as you. After trying a few different types of ammunition I found the Browning BPR works the best for me. Of the different subsonic ammo I tried, the Winchester subsonic was by far the best. I have found it to be a very good and very accurate rifle for the price. Thankyou again and happy shooting 👍👍👍

    maybe I got lucky with a good unit but mine it seems to eat even the crappiest bulk ammo with no problem at all. Maybe 1 or 2 failures to extract with rims that are too thin and flat but that's it.

  • @deadeye566
    @deadeye5662 жыл бұрын

    Two comments. Timey triggers are nice, but expensive. I have a 2 pound trigger pull in my American Rimfire, and the only thing that I did was to change out the trigger spring for a lighter one, then adjusted the trigger pull. I think the spring cost me about seventy-five cents. The rifle still has a very crisp trigger. Mine seems to like CCI standard velocity ammo, as well as Eley Target ammo. That Leupold scope is wonderful. You can't get a better scope without spending a LOT of money.

    In Australia you have to be licensed to own any pistol or rifle in any calibre. Even for pellet guns or pistols. Even after sitting a basic test which is the first step it takes about 2 weeks to wait for the clearance to purchase any firearms. Then we need to get permission inform police of the exact Firearms that we intend to purchase. Autos or semi autos were banned about 1982 after a mass shooting. You can own semi autos and maybe autos if there is very clear evidence of the need for one which is strictly governed. This usually means that you have to be a contracted culler/pest controller. For pistols a person has to belong to a shooting club and attend about 4 competitive events per year at the club. Can't hunt with a pistol and certainly no personal open or concealed carrying is allowed anywhere. Individuals who might have buffaloes on their property can get permission to have a large calibre sidearm as personal protection but only can be carried on their property not off the property on your side.
