I love Chiang Mai, great place to live. I shared a townhome right in the heart of downtown...for $175 a month. My balcony was the size a huge living room, fully covered and enclosed, absolutely gorgeous. I was steps away from Maya Mall, with a view of Doi Suthep. Mornings sipping coffee, painting, and then exploring the city. Pure heaven! p.s. re digital nomads: If they are being evasive, they are probably keeping it on the low down due to Thai work laws. If you ain't got a 'work permit', keep your mouth shut...or run afoul of immigration!!

Can you elaborate on "shared a townhome"? Did you have a roommate or housemate? Was it a 2 bedroom townhouse? Thanks!

When in Bkk for 3 months in 2020. I ran into a group of guys all under 30 who were rich and way overstayed their Visas. It was bars and girls every night, was a comedy the whole time :)

Practical video's like these are always welcome! There is always someone looking for a place to stay. These condo's look amazing!
Fun video Forrest, some good deals in Chiang Mai. That first apartment was 👌
I shared a room less than half the size of #3 in college. As a single expat that is really all you need. Makes me want to move to Chiang Mai now. Wow!
Incredible. I just left Chiang Mai a few days ago. I really like it. Like the low rent. I do prefer ocean towns but Chiang Mai is nice.
I really like the first Condo but the last Condo would probably make more sense for me
mate... I've lived in Bangkok for 7 years in total and moved to Chiang Mai 2 weeks ago (actually living in Nimmana condo) and it's already SO MUCH better to live here ... If you are free to move anywhere in Thailand, I don't see why you would want to live in BKK ...
When I travel to Thailand, Chiang Mai is usually where I spend most of my time. Thinking about coming to Thailand in February/March 2022. Hope things getting better by that time.

I should have watched this before I came to CM! Great deals to be had!
Very nice tour! I plan to do what Canadians call "Snowbirding" which means that I'll spend half the year - the frozen half - in a warm locale. My first choice is Thailand because it makes sense to rent and the social climate is so inviting. I'll definitely get hold of Nicha. I know from other people that Chiang Mai is one of the best places for a comfortable semi-retirement. This video has me very enthusiastic about making the leap in 2022 or 2024. Thank you.
Thanks Lee. Very informative n i love that you n Nicha were so natural. Nothing put on. Thanks. Its only the smoky season that puts me off in CM
Digital Nomads can afford 25K thai baht per month. Mom, mom wire me money! I need to live like a real boss.

Love the first condo; but prefer the price of the last one😉 thanks for sharing this awesome vlog Forrest 🙏 Enjoyed watching it!!!
Your presenting style is brilliant Forrest. Great video!
Good video, a added bonus is adding a bed you can lift the mattress and it add some much space for storage
Nicha was great! Such a great personality!
I love the design of the first condo.
Hope to travel to Thailand soon, but till then living it through your eyes. You’re the Asian Mike Rowe! Keep smiling, love your work, more please!!! Yeah, get your ass out there and work!
Liked and subbed . I’m 59 , from the UK and retired , looking at Chiangmai for three to six months . I heard the vegetarian food is great and it has a good cycling scene. Really appreciated.

Great video Forrest. I am getting more and more interested with visiting Chiang Mai and seeing if is a good spot for long term stay in the future. I hope to retire soon and roam around Asia. Looking for a home base in Asia. Of course waiting for countries to open up. Hey, do you golf? If so, it would great to see you doing some golf course videos. Take care man and keep doing what you’re doing!
That bathroom was stellar!
Great vid , thanks . Really enjoyed.
Great video. Really enjoyed all three options
Check the Omega condos in bangkok. They are a bit older so they have more space and are still nice
Nicha so amazing 🤩
A lot of great options. Our agent was Ruby from perfect homes and we found our apartment for $150 usd a month.

U really convinced me to move to Chiang Mai 👍🏻
I love cooking and this condo would do it for me. This is a ten star condo .
If the first one is 25k and 80 sq m, and it's right where you want, then it's four times the price of a standard nice studio in the same area, and two and a half times the size. It's better, however, in terms of the decor. So I think 15-18k would be the ceiling. The third one is a nice studio. They can be gloomy, but that's a good one. They'd probably take less than 7,500. Learn. "Mee hong wang mai?" (Do you have a room?), "Doo hong dai mai?" (Can I see it?), "Thao rai?" (How much?) and - crucially - point at the AC and say, "Thao rai faa?" (How much is the electricity?) This makes you look as if you know your stuff, and you'll get a better deal!

Thanks for the video! Im looking to move to Chiang Mai this September! Been before, beautiful city so chiiled compared to bangkok.
Great video Forest and Nicha. 3 different prices and class living places was great idea. Something for everyone. Chiang Mai looks nice from the mountain views. Great place for a nice slower life as i seek. Thank You from London Ontario Canada, where my ground floor 500 sq foot bachlore apartment here i pay $557/month rises each year 1.2%. or $6.60 extra. it i way below average prices as prices all over Ontario closer to $900 for one bedrooms to over $1400 for 3 bedrooms. Cheers
Love Punna2!
Cute agent 😍😍 Thank you so much for the video (:
nice video Forrest!! would you guys say Chang Mai is the place to be outside of Bangkok?
I like the first condo. Not knowing the area would be the only problem. good video. Sweet sales lady.

@@BigDongEmperor , of course, the internet is being upgraded. There is new fiber lines along the rail and new lives will link to Bangkok, Vietnam and the world. The lower cost of living, easy transport, and location on the Mekong, will make Vientiane very attractive to digital nomads. I myself plan on living in Vientiane for some time.

I chatted with a lad who'd been there on the train in 2014 from Nong Khai to Udon. Maybe it has changed, but I doubt it. He said Laos was just a nightmare. They tried to charge you horrendous farang prices all the time, and you constantly have to argue.

wow just wow that is so cheap for what you are getting. i mean if you really liked chiang mai i would do a year for sure. im impressed. has that thailand feel to it.
I came back to make an additional statement. If you take $1,000 and add some items to this condo. Example. Move white table and chairs outside. Buy a bigger sofa and move it closer to TV. Put the bed behind the sofa. Add better pictures. Great location for $150.00
Amazing
Have you lived in both chaing mai and Bangkok ? Which do you prefer? I know it’s cheaper in chaing mai,,,but what about night life. Etc, etc
Nice video, do you use iPhone to make your videos?
First, you AE ALLOWED to BASH Los Angeles MUCH more............I visit nearly every weekend from San Diego, Both are getting high for rent! In Carlsbad, CA a new home starts at two million dollars PERIOD USD! SO, you see why my options are looking SUPER for Thailand or nearby............ Thank you for taking time out of your life to help others:)
Compare with size I think the first one is worth it plus it got luxury.
That is a beautiful apartment
I will contact her when I come there. Thanks
I think Forest has a crush
Cool!
im about to become a digital nomad in Thailand in january, not sure if I should go to Chiang Mai or Pattaya
You seem very happy in Thailand Forest , do you see yourself ever settling back in the states ?
The third property was more in line with what I want to pay if I was to move there for a year or so but I wanted to look into buying a condo close to the beach or on the beach for $15,000 US. Is it possible? Let me know. Thanks.
Thanks for the tour Nicha and you too Forrest.
