Chatting With Peter Petzold About German Watches
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
NOT: Sorry about the sound quality on this video, Peter had completely lost his voice and this is the best audio I could get from him
I was so pleased to be able to pop into Define watches whilst on a recent holiday to Noosa and finally meet Peter face to face.
I spent the better part of a week roaming around his shop and since I had my camera equipment with me I decide to shoot an interview with him regarding German watches
I managed to get hands on with Sinn, Muhle Glasshutte, Habring 2, Hanhart and more...
Once again excuse his voice, he was suffering from a cold

Great video, what a nice guy! Have that 39mm Flyback Panda for about 4 months and it almost never leaves my wrist since. Love the proportion, the dial and this absolutely stunning case!
Ahhh, Hanhart... My Grail Watch... Love the history n their tech being the best of both Swiss n German... Looking at the 417ES... ❤

Fantastic interview and I echo what someone else said about turning on CC! Much better 😃 I live in Brisbane and somehow never knew about Define Watches until recently when you posted another video, mind blown. So excited to get up there and try on a Sinn! And many others 😅
What an amazing stock of watches he has. Makes me want to holiday in Noosa before it gets cooler.
Great interview Pete! Am loving the variety of watches and honest comments, a trip to Noosa is on the cards just to visit Define.

adore Hanhart watches !
I just had a visual relationship with the search and rescue model. Absolute fire !
I would be like a kid in a candy store. WOW! I'd have to leave my wallet at home, or I'd probably go broke, really quickly. AWESOME video! You know I love my Muhle SAR Rescue Timer.....but that SAR Flieger Chronograph is absolutely beautiful. If you gave me $50K, I bet I could go through it in about a half an hour in that store, lol.

Those Habring watches are very lovely. I never heard of Lang and Heyne but heck, they are something, too. And then the imperious Dornbluth. Totally agree with the little imperfections that so personalise something like this. Then that simple, gorgeous Hanhart for $1400, what a beautiful piece. What a feast. Super video, loved it Pete, and the other Pete is a super guy, many thanks to him also👍👍

I have Laco, Sinn and Hanhart...I would buy from them without hesitation. "Swiss" is overrated and a price tax.
Would've been nice to see Tutima explored here. I know you've spoken highly of their watches in past videos.

Peter at Define Watches is a fantastic AD for German watches - wanted to pull the trigger on the SAR Rescue Timer (also based on your reviews) and he opened on a Saturday at 2 hours’ notice and sat with my wife and me for more than an hour, was excellent service. My wife got an awesome discount on something she liked as well - a great watch purchasing experience all round! 👏🏻

Habring 2 are actually from Austria and even though me might speak the same language, we're not the same ^^ (the next time I'll drop some serious cash on a watch it will probably be a Habring 2 since I love that we have such a talented watchmaker who used to work for some of the big names in the game before)
Love German watches , for the money the best ❤🏴👍
Fantastic premise for a video, and lovely watches, but I could hardly hear anything your interview subject said! Please, PLEASE mic up your subject or use a mic setup that is capturing you both equally.

Unwatchable… the sound level disparity is inconvenient. You could have put the mike closer to him, your voice too loud w r t his. And is a pity because I wanted to hear what Pete had to say, I have bought a Sinn from him over the internet and we communicated via email. Pity cannot hear him…

I completely understand... I wasn't going to post the video because of his voice was barely legible (His cold and sore throat) I had a lapel microphone on his shirt and that did not pick up a clear voice...even with the levels turned up to max. Nonetheless, in the end I decided to post the video as it will be a while before I go back and visit again Thanks for sharing...once again pity the audio isnt up to scratch and my apologies

Thanks as always Pete for the video. Great opportunity to see these brands in person. We don't really have a chance to see Sinn in person in the US. Question - I have been researching Sinn Chronographs and wondering about thickness, especially on the Diapals although also as a whole. Any you might avoid or recommend for thickness for a 16cm+ wrist? Cheers from Montana. 🌲⛰️🦬
@PeterKotsa
2 ай бұрын
Correct, some of the Diapals are indeed a tad thick. For me I try to stick to 14-15mm and under in case height. A while back I reviewed a Sinn which was around 17mm and it was beyond my comfort zone
