Thank you for your video. . I find it strange that funds can be found to look after large houses in vast grounds. . But this counties industrial history is left to rot . . It was the working classes that made the wealth . .
My dad served his time here as an electrical apprentice and then moved to holditch until 1989 and my great grandad won the George Cross at harriseahead in 1924.
I made a picture video here! I snuck in one night and tried to get some videos of the mines but the police and there dog came, a ace explore my friend!
Most interesting! I rather enjoyed this video and the information. Good tour! Thank you.
Such a shame to see it so run down. Hopefully it's fortunes will turn around and it will become the fine museum it once was, albeit the underground tours won't happen again.

the simulated ones will probably run again, but the real one is flooded and the shafts are capped. the blue shaft was used from 1986 till 1993 for the underground tour which goes 30 ft underground.
If only the council would help to preserve the site better , as they are responsible for it .
HAVE THE SHAFTS BEEN FILLED IN?
nah ... this doesn't work for me I much prefer you going into mines exploring vids
