ABANDONED, RUSTY AND DANGEROUS, climbing Chatterley Whitfield Colliery (MR AIRBORNE)
#ABANDONED #Derelictbuildings #EXPLORING
A bit of a risky one today as i entered the ABANDONED Chatterley Whitfeild Colliery (stoke on trent) with buildings that date back to 1880's.
The pit was closed in 1976, a mining museum was created but then closed in 1993.
the recorded deepest shaft is the Hesketh shaft with a depth of 1900ft but then as the seams dipped at about 1 in 4 the true depth of the lowest workings would have been a lot deeper then that.

This is so close to where I live, I’ve always wanted to see inside. Great job and super brave
My dad worked there from 1955 to 1979 after leaving the declinig south wales coalfield. Know the whole site well in its working days and as a museum. The neglect of this huge historic site is a national disgrace.
Crickey you took the hard route 😱🤔😂
Scary watching you climb with how rusty it is, great though.
Sickkk
