Ahhh yea love and miss that river...now I'm in the blackhills chasing pike/bass in the summer and trout all winter. Which ain't bad

Great job! My hubby went to that event and learned you need a buddy. Couldn't get back up the rapids and had to get "rescued' by a friend that lives nearby. Skunked as well...felt so bad for him. Live and learn!

Ahh that stinks! there can be some fast rapids in that river. If I ever go to the river solo I typically stay within range of my launch. Glad he is safe and back home. He will be good to go next time!

Another nice vid! FYI from my experience, when using a soft crawl, and it feels like the smallies are slightly tugging and playing with it first usually means they are trying to bite off the pinchers first before eating it. Not all of them will do it, but I would say more of the smaller ones will. Happens a lot to me when using regular soft plastic craws. I’m sure the smallies were frustrated trying to tear off the Nikko material. Hahaha!

It’s worth taking a look at for sure! I’ve been fishing it since I was a kid. This was in the brutal heat in mid august. The bite on the river now is pretty good in the morning!

Not sure if you noticed how good are are really doing this year. Going into this event you had skids by a point! If you can do well at Portage its going yo be a shootout between u 2 at the classic!!! Lets get it on 🐟

Shawn is going to be leaps and bounds ahead of me. I already have 5 scores going into portage and my worst finish this season is a 12th place. The best I can do is win the event and only get 11 points for it. But I at least hope to make him wait until the classic to be crowned. 😂

Nice vid, do not change anything on your POV. At Kiser Lake most of the lily pads of carps, see your shadow, they jump like a kid doing a cannonball. I think the bass are on the drop off by the banks. I usually go for Hybrids wipers in the main channel on the bottom for fun. They are giants. I tried Tycoon today. Deflecting cranks off structure, no luck with swimjigs. Just a 12" on blue wacky ( inspired by Bookman 5lb vid). Hitting Alum Creek Lake tomorrow. Going get my Trace on!

I’m stoked to get some revenge on Kiser!! Alum creek has been pretty good so I’ve heard! The Trace has been money on the river I got some big ole smallies this past weekend!

@@thecreekcrawler I been to Alum once in a small boat and some coves on bank. This time going to hit the kayak launch, work the cove on the right then under the bridge in the shade. Josh from 740 Fishing nailed a muskie over there. of course he has a regular bass boat. I look at kayak fishing as a extreme sport

The vmc rugby jighead! It pairs perfectly and keeps me out of snags for the most part!

I got to fish the GMR for the 1st time a couple weeks ago for the NAPRA finals. Beautiful river with solid smallmouth!

I don’t really think luck is apart of the equation. If you want to catch a bunch of 15-17 inchers go to the Hocking. If you want a good chance at a 19-20 incher the GMR is the place to be! Both fisheries are very unique in their own way.

This river is pretty dang productive from Indian lake to the Ohio River! My best advice is to pick a section and just start fishing! You’ll find some fish.
