Man, i miss that voice.

Me and my buddies in high school looked up Harry Kalas in the phone book. Found someone by that name living in Media and decided to call. The voice that answered was unmistakably the Harry Kalas. He talked to us about the Phillies for a couple minutes and was very nice. What a great guy. Rip

@@mike9090ish One of my buddies spread his phone number around the high school and people started blowing up his phone. I felt really had, I didnt want that to happen. His wife called back upset saying something about somebody having had a stroke.

Ahh the good old days. I called Dale Earnhardt one time as a kid in the early 90s 😂😉. I called 0 the operator and asked for him. The lady said what state is he in because she obviously never heard of him 🤔. I got patched through to him and a woman answered at first….probably Theresa and then I asked for and talked to Dale and he entertained me for a few minutes. Then a few weeks later the long distance phone bill arrived and I got in some trouble 🥴😂

Had to watch this on 5th anniversary of Harry's passing. Harry is greatly missed...and Chase Utley is still the man!

Yes. I too loved Utley’s demeanor. So cool. Casually pops up from his slide and quietly walks off like a boss.

Dear Mr. Utley, I knew this day would come eventually but I didn’t want it to happen. Every year that I’ve been competent enough to watch the phillies, you have been my favorite player. It was hard knowing you weren’t going to play in Philly any more after you were traded. When you homered against the phillies for the first time in Philadelphia, it honestly was the first time I’ve ever cheered for an opposing player. I will have the honor of watching you in person one more time on 7/23, so I wanted to take this time to thank you for all the years you dedicated to Philadelphia. Chase, Philly loves you and we will always remember how much you did for our city and team. WFC forever. Thank you, Mr Utley.

Phillies had no reason to keep Utley anymore, other teams wanted him because of his experience, especially in playoffs
