...he sits at home with the kids at night, hides the worry on his face...... Gets me every time
He plays like a machine, yet it's not overly repetitive and he's singing a song first and foremost. I probably couldn't tap my foot as well as this man.

The Red Cedar River is practically outside my back door.
I love it. Give a bluesman a 12 string in standard tuning and every note pops. What an underated player and song writer.

He's not at all underrated by the people who've heard him.
Every time I play this song at least five times in a row. So much truth my soul breaks.
Reservation Dogs brought me here and I’m so thankful. This touches my soul. Charlie Parr is incredible and this song is beautiful
This man makes me feel like an hardworking American, and I am a Canadian. Mr. Parr you are a musical genius! God Bless you! Your music sings to my soul. ✝️❤️
Here is a player that deserves a wider recognition. He is golden and has one 'hit' after another. But I suppose we should be glad he is not CMA material and we can keep him as honest as he is. Too many others have sold their creative soul for the fame. Charlie is a real artist with a real heart and one of the very few artists I would pay good money to see.

We're not the ones who are keeping Charlie honest. He does that just fine without us. Get real.

Its sad. This is the type of music that should be winning awards.
Just discovered this song on Apple radio. Had to download it. Legit listen to it 6 hours straight. Amazing
This song is just what a person needs in life when a smile is needed!! =)
I call and talk to Sean every Saturday night I'm Rog the Farmer in Grantsburg Wisconsin . I love the work that you guys are doing and helping to promote new bands and new music . It would be do cool to sit and watch bands perform in studio cutting tracks . I've been calling in since he took over for Dave Campbell so that's been a while . Sean says I make his day with my Farmer humor and analogies about the weather in a backwood style most folks say I am so full of it that my eyes are Brown !! Lol There isn't many farmers which 89.3 stickers on their combines and tractors ! Most folks wouldn't think Farmers would listen to this music ! With headphones and good tunes you can go all Day ! I wish that you were you guys would do a public service announcement for everyone that comes up to Wisconsin going to their cabins ? The Hey when you see a tractor and machinery on the road. ? Don't tail gate it and crowded it ! Give it Space ! Remember the life you Save ? May be Yours !! Hey just Say n Man ! So hey love the Station ❤️ Love the Tunes ! And like I tell Sean when I email him ? Like it said on the back of Joe Walshs album The smoker you drink the player you get ! On the back cover it says ! IT'S MADE LOUD TO BE PLAYED LOUD ! LOL. And I know you will look too !! Lol Oh and ROCK ON GARTH ! OH YEAH I LOVE CHARLIE PARR TOO ! VERY COOL MUSIC .
Beautiful song and a great story teller. Thank you for sharing this!
oh lord, i really love this music. charlie parr is that kind of original. Loving all of his music, 'cause it's bringing me down to the real world, where real people are talking each to each other, not via facebook, whatsapp, or something like that...
the one and only "charlie parr" elevates this to heaven
Great song! I'm still hanging around this town. Going down to the Red Cedar this afternoon.
Amazing!! Thanks for share I am now Charlie fan :)
Saw an ad in Vintage Guitar, thought I'd look him up. Glad I did.
I saw Charlie Parr at the monkey house in Winooski VT a few years back. he was so good live and seemed so authentic, and was so patient and polite and quiet talking to people. he just seemed like a genuinely awesome person.
Love this song and Charlie.
Always awesome Charlie :)
the truth by Charlie Parr
He has his guitar tuned down a whole step and puts a capo on the 3rd fret so it’s actually Ab major but the chord shapes he plays are G, D, and C.
really great !!!
For sure, my friend.
Love!
Go, Charlie, go.
National treasure.
Great!!
Nice song
This guy is great.
Dig it.
Anyone have tabs for this? The chords are obvious enough, but that's one interesting picking pattern
What’s the tuning?
Does anybody know if he is in an alternative tuning?

+Coconuification he is not that is standard tuning
Sad in a good way. Why didn't any Cidizens take the time to comment here?
What is that he's got under his foot? Is that like a preamp or something?

+Jeremiah it's a stompbox (basically a box with a microphone/and or transducer to connect to an amp). Functions as "bass drum", and let's him amplify his foot work. Looks like the Micro from Porchboard ....

+lbb101 Very interesting. Thank you!
Does anyone know what tuning he is in? Cannot be standard. But chord structures look standard...

+David Niemeyer I learned 1922 Blues by him and it was tuned to Drop Open G (1st and 6st strings tuned down to D and the 5th string down to a G)

+David Niemeier standard tuning for this song, with capo

He's tuned down one and a half steps without the capo on the 3rd fret. The capo puts him in standard. It's not uncommon to tune down a 12 string. You can hear it in old blues recordings. I think it sounds better tuned down while putting less tension on the neck and making it easier to play.

Can confirm, at least his guild 12 string is tuned down a whole step.

old school twelve string guys had long scale necked guitars that could be tuned down low ex leadbelly was b-b standard i believe even a 25' ish 12 sounds great with heavier strings C-C standard
Village it takes to raise our kids, afraid to come outside... very covid
This guys has a problem with normal ppl that love their life
