Is that where that casino is at also? I heard of a casino that a lot of people like near Charlestown I think.

Yes, the casino is about a 5 minute drive down the road

@@ontheroadagain1 Someone told me that many years ago at that casino that you could win big on a max bet of a coin before they changed it to higher amounts to play. he claimed that he one big once. he was an older man.

It was a nice Saturday afternoon, so I'm not sure why people weren't out lol. We don't always head to the downtown area when we visit, so I'm not sure if this was normal.
I grew up there. In elementary school, we got to go on a field trip to the court house and see where John Brown was tried and the property where he was hanged for treason. There are underground canals under the city you used to be able to walk through. Itvwas a great place to grow up.Charles Town was named on behalf of George Washington's brother. The whole county is steeped in remarkable history.

That's awesome! Yea we come here almost every weekend. We went to the home of the founder, but there was a bluegrass band practicing for a event, so we couldn't tour the home. It's beautiful though!
