I think he missed out on big paydays in his early career until he became champ in 2021-22. So it makes sense he wants the Conor fight to make up for it. There were less talented fighters making millions just by talking smack. Unfortunately, for many years in the UFC it was the trend or how Dana took it to. It was not about the best/talented fighters but those who can sell the brand! Average/ordinary fighters made a name/money off it

I thinks its justified. Charles was always a submission specialist but he never made crazy money like Alex Periera, who made millions in his first fight, because of his past with Izzy. Unfortunately, it's Dana's fault. He favors KO artists over submission specialists or grapplers, because sadly Dana's fight IQ is very bad. He looks for those fighters who swing for the fences.

We cannot blame champions who don’t want to fight the real uncrown champion. Look at Charles lost to Islam. It has become difficult for him to find a fight now. The same goes for Sean running away to Merab or Omar and Leon running away to Islam or Shavkat because they will lose their title.
