I can see Charles III will be redeemed fully and he will be a rightful King for this era for UK. His image as a wrong husband to Princess Diana was tarnished, but as a professional and in his duty I can see he excels in this field. I wish the uneducated would stop telling me to read history, I can promise I've already read more than you have. It's part of the Treaty of Union between England and Scotland in 1706/07. It was agreed that the Monarch has to swear an oath as soon as possible after they accede to the throne to protect the Church of Scotland, which is a Presbyterian church and the "national church" of Scotland. The Monarch also takes an oath to protect the Church of England, an Anglican church and the "established church" in England, at their Coronation (King Charles' Coronation will be held in May 2023).

He must be exhausted. Such a lot to deal with. Long live the King.

Not likely. He would probably give his arm for his mother's company (as most humans would) for another few years, and he likely wishes to go back to his charities where he found his life's purpose. Being king isn't like having your birthday every day. A part of you is set aside in order to assume the role. He could have abdicated. It takes love of country to do what he is doing now. I wonder what persuaded him to accept, because just a couple days ago there was a news release that he wasn't going to do it. It's gone now, probably hastily posted while he was grieving then quickly taken down. Someone somewhere said something to him to change his mind. Well, good luck to him.

The coronation ceremony probably won't be until next year. Elizabeth's coronation (1953) was the year after she inherited the throne (1952).

He hasn't yet been crowned, mate. Just proclaimed. It's important to proclaim immediately to avoid instability. The crowning at coronation will likely take place early next year. It takes this long because it is a logistical nightmare and to start whilst the now dead monarch is alive is actually a treasonous offence. Hence the time.

It's protocol, always done this way when a monarch passes. Most governments don't take a long time switching, because institutions need to have a level of continuity. Same with monarchies.
