The coronation is the real show and that is 6 or more months away. His regnant name may not be Charles III, it may be one of his 3 other given names, which are Philip, Arthur and George. Both Charles I & II were tragic characters, Charles I was beheaded. There's never been a King Philip or King Arthur of England or the United kingdom. King Arthur is a much loved fictional King. If he chooses George, it would be the name both is maternal great grandfather and maternal grandfather used as King. His maternal grandfather was called Albert nickname was "Bertie" but chose George VI as his regnant name in honour of his father King George V. If Charles chooses George, he'll be George VII. Lest we forget was his 7x grandfather who lost the 13 British colonies that became the United States of America. In a sense, this is part of America's history.

@@jackkomisar458 I know how to use his titles. I would say, "His Majesty, The King". I was referring to him as His Royal Highness, Charles III because that's proper. He can also be stylised HRH Charles III Rex.

Only very few from the last King of England is alive today to witness this historic occasion. Think about that.

The bearskin hat was originally designed so that the enemy couldn’t make out the position of your head easily, so, they’d shoot the bearskin and not you if you popped into their view. It also increased intimidation giving the illusion of extra height. The King’s Guards are full time professional serving soldiers who do this and other ceremonial duties alongside their active combat duties. Many of whom have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

@@vsvntvnv I’m British, there’s no such thing as the “Royal guard”. It is the King’s Guard (or Queen’s guard when the sovereign is female). They’re manned by one of the Household Division's five regiments of foot guards, all of whom are operational soldiers. The weapon they carry is the SA-80 L3, the standard infantry rifle of the British Army. In times of heightened security threats, these are loaded. The regiments of the household division and the household cavalry both bear the responsibility of guarding the sovereign and performing ceremonial duties, alongside their primary role as full-time serving soldiers. These regiments have toured both Afghanistan and Iraq. The same goes for those on horseback known as the household cavalry-the blues and royals and the lifeguards-all full time operational soldiers who’ve seen combat. The UK does not have ceremonial soldiers, every one of them is fully trained and operational. They do this alongside their full-time serving role. That’s why it irks us Brits when people disrespect them. They are not just for show. They can be in their ceremonial dress one day, and full combat gear on deployment overseas the next.

Refusing the title "Queen" seems a little phobic but whatever.

Game of thrones was partly based on the War of the Roses which took place in the UK. The wall with the barbarians living on the other side is Hadrian's Wall built by the Romans to keep out the Scottish tribes. The Two houses fighting for the throne were the houses of York and Lancashire. It is all depicted in the heraldry and the symbols they are wearing. One was a white rose the other a red rose which is why the rose on heraldry is both. They are wearing various colours worn into battle and representing the kingdoms of Britain.

And in his terrible rancor between worlds and through time, the Hell Walker found the wretch who shall not be named, but in his heresy was loyal to his evil cause. The wretch adorned the Doom Slayer in a mighty armor, wrought in the forges of Hell, impenetrable and unyielding. With sword and shield of adamantine strength, the Doom Slayer set to banishing all that were left unbroken by his savagery to the void. Yet as the mighty Titan fell and dread engulfed the armies of Doom, the demon priests of the Blood Temples laid a trap to capture this scourge of Hell. I'm an American, and that game _me_ goosebumps. Something special about watching one of the last few monarchs in the world proclaimed King. For many, it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Although, I must say, that when they zoom out, seeing everyone with their arms in the air holding their damned smartphone almost ruined the atmosphere in a manner speaking. Lastly, the one thing we Americans do better than the British when it comes to ceremonies is that we don't use our modern rifles, we use the M14 battle rifle. The L86A1 used by the British forces is a ridiculous-looking and god-awful weapon. All that aside, still an emotional ceremony to watch, even for us 'across the pond'.

While countries such as the US have a politician as head of state with their own agenda and politics governing what they do, a constitutional monarchy such as the UK, doesn’t. So while political turbulence ensues between parties, the nation can be united by a head of state that does not have political motivations or alignment. They sit above Parliament and the House of Lords as a third eye, able to review legislative proposals and send them back for refinement. It also frees up the government so they can focus on governing the country, while the monarch conducts oversees visits and duties pertinent to a head of state. It’s about having a leader who can be admired by all, without politics, serving as a constant presence of calm, love, and happiness in an ever-changing world. The UK does not need a second amendment to protect itself from a rogue government, the monarchy prevents that. The UK’s armed forces swear allegiance to the monarch. The prime minister is given power to instruct them when appointed by the sovereign (now King Charles III), but, should the government go rogue, their loyalties and oath are to his majesty. It is a system that has worked for centuries. The last time a British monarch ever intervened and sent a proposed legislative bill back to parliament for review was over 150 years ago. And it’s not just the monarch who scrutinises legislation. Once it leaves the House of Commons, it is the House of Lords who review it, then finally the monarch. When you see leaders of the countries we view as pariah states pay their respects, send their condolences and later their congratulations to new Sovereign, speaking of their respect, affection and admiration, wishing prosperity and good health to the country, and expressing hopes for better political relations between governments, it goes to show why such a figure is needed in a politically motivated world. Politicians establish relations based on their own politics, a monarch/non-politically aligned head of state does so as a fellow human being. Building relationships on kindest, love and respect, the one thing that unifies us all. The first head of state to congratulate King Charles III is invaded Ukraine-yes, him. And he did so despite King Charles III having compared him to Germany’s leader in 1940 whilst Prince. That is the greatness of a monarchy, a non-political face for the country, a beacon of hope and unity; just a human, not a politician.

That’s why a constitutional monarchy works so incredibly well because despite the appalling political mess (and boy, WHAT a mess it’s been here in the UK recently!) we have nationwide stability because the Head of State is on the throne having undergone a seamless change from one monarch to another and the nation is just the same. Calm, well-ordered continuity.

Well you never know. King Charles is going to be 74 in November so maybe he will live to be 100 and make it to a bit over 25 yrs as King. I am two years older than him and I sure don't want to live to be 100. While I do not live in the land of Kings and Queens I am watching Game of Thrones now and I find that interesting. Best wish's to King Charles and his family. I hope William and Harry will get along now and Harry and his family move out of my state and move back to England.
