It’s nicely rendered. The proportions are off, which indicates he went right into rendering (or shading as the kids call it) without working out the fundamental structure first. It’s impressive he got such good results, indicating he has a well developed eye. But it takes a split second to see that the head is much too big compared to the shoulders and torso. And the likeness is off. He’s not drawing the model as she is. Rather is relying on his assumptions over what’s actually there. It looks a bit idealized and slightly cartoonish. Excellent effort nonetheless.

Ha, you're right. Yet I still kinda like it. There's nothing better than sketching from life! Learning every day... :)
