The most over the top content. This is infectious. Everything from the iron shiek’s vitriol to the Hector’s disappearance is brilliant. That’s before we get to the Gateway itself which was a great job, and one I look forward to seeing in action!

Loving it! Especially excited here as I have been on the Cthulhu kick lately. Just bought a complete Arkham horror 2e collection (yeah I know 🤦‍♂️).. going to try ultimate Arkham this weekend: Mansions of madness, Eldritch horror and Arkham Horror

This looks fucking awesome, the pencils as basalt columns is a great touch.

Hector nooooooo! Seriously loving the cinematic bits Dave! The final product came out great, the pencils were a clever way to do the hex pattern rocks! :)

It's pretty awesome that you can get a commission for a MOVIE prop, and turn around and make a video about it for KZread and double your output of labor. Also you did a great job. I really like how it turned out.

@@MSPaints (sorry, a little late this one). I was wondering if the textured printing on the pencils shows close up. I know that during filming it likely doesn't matter, and even using it for a tabletop game no one is likely to be that close, but it struck me watching you glue them on.

@@AnZsDad1973 Obviously past the point of no return with Dave's project, but others could probably fix the issue by either taking a selective slice out with a knife, &/or covering it with a dab of some kind of paste/clay. Either way would add more visual interest, & bring it back to something more akin to mundane rocks.

So I think me know who is the loving embodiment of Dorn the builder....

This was a super exiting project! I just found Your channel and i am glad i did! I quite resently realized how much more potential we actualy hawe today when it come to combine different types of modern virtual tecknology with old scool craftig, i hawe the feeling most people are so to speak still more or less stranded on either side today, but one often misst the oportunity to use them more as an extension tool. On closeup i makes a massive differense to use actual real world models, but for many reasons it is usualy not possible to create full scale scenery for things like a full scale movie setup and there are things that can't realy be done that way, but is possible to make in CGI. This was briliant and a lot of insiration!

Just in case you didn't know, distilled water in a mister bottle is the best activator for original formula gorilla glue.

Spraying solvents directly on foam can sometimes yield interesting results, depending on what you're after. Sometimes - again, sometimes, depending on your paint and how you approach it, you can get away with not melting anything, or at least not melting it significantly. Luke there, seems to have been lucky in this regard, and that luck has made him even more of an asshole, but his luck will not hold out forever. If you really care about your piece, and are at all worried about it, don't chance it. It's only a matter of time before you (or Luke), totally ruin something you care about. In any case, there are solvent-lite or solvent-free spray paints out there, like the Liquitex brand. If you have to spray without sealing, just use those.

And in another time dimension where food is expensive, someone will have found Health and Safety Frog and decided he is too scrawny to be made into anything bar soup, so soup it is on the menu. Meanwhile in a studio a ginger bearded Yorkshireman is trying to remember did he tell Dave about spraying solvents on foam or was that just a spur of the moment thing that he thought he had passed on? Time will tell as they say. Cheers dave for the interesting concept as usual - your getting pretty good at this !!
