MS Paints is a hobby channel with a new way of thinking. Take all the pomp and reverence out of youtube miniature painting and scenics, while maintaining high production values. A few years ago i got back into the Warhammer hobby, and a year after that i was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Why's that a big deal? Well it meant my new favourite hobby was in danger. But i learned to adapt painting and scenics techniques, and adapt mindset, to accommodate my new situation. I hope i can help you do the same!

People arent mad just because there are females in 40k, everyone thinks the SoB are extremely badass, but people are mad because GW is doing it in a sloppy way that retcons lore just for the sake of modern inclusivity. When you let irl social pressures leak in this way, whats stopping them from retconning even more stuff in the future? Pretty soon warhammer might have a completely different identity if this keeps up, and part of what made warhammer appealing originally was its depiction of how realistic a grim and dark futuristic war would be. And people are worried that immersion is being broken down more and more. Again, im not mad because there are females in 40k, but its GW's complete disregard for existing lore and pandering to inclusivity that makes me worried they will continue to retcon/change things.

I have no friends to begin with, so i joined a local historical wargaming club, abd now they are my friends. The done thing at that club is, if you like a game, then you buy two sides/armies/gangs, invite someone to play.

My wife is definitely a "female" custodian. She takes care of my ass, finds me good bits, goes to Lowes for discount damaged foam, and buys thrift shop stuff for me when I'm not even around. 😂 My toy and junk treasure pile tripled once she was onboard

I have a bunch of terrain I've been dreading painting. Think I'm gonna paint it on Friday after treatment infusion. Fuck it, it's just a model. At end of the day, I do Trashcraft and it cost me nothing. Everyone saves all their trash for me. Why mull it over or fear making a mistake? It cost me a dab of glue, a dab of paint, and mainly my time

I just loaded up on free wine boxes out of Tesco. Cardboard without the gross grease stains! Being engineered to carry glass means they're quite robust.
If I had to guess who its for, I'd say its for cheeky table-top gamers that want to lure their video-game-inclined and otherwise unsuspecting friends into the tabletop hobby.
You may be interested in the Rebel Moon popcorn bucket dropships. The film tanked so they're usually on clearance for $7-15 USD. They have a weathered paintjob so they're table ready out of the box, no need for covering up the bright child-friendly colours. It's hollow with a flat bottom and removable upper 'lid' leaving the option for fun interior builds. Decent scale for 28mm stuff, looks nice. Could use a small fleet of the things if only for filling out a space port parking lot to play through, but the conversion potential looks great.

My only issue is not them being female. Is more im scared of getting a situation where it terribly written and moment you've genuine criticism you get called everything under the sun but the issue never gets fix and youre left in a situation like star wars, i will be frank i don't the lore for the custodes and ive no interest in learning im just afraid it's going to pool over into the wider universe at this point. I'm holding all reservations until I have a novel in hand and able to give a proper criticism about the material that's not a nugget of lore. I think it's more productive to empower women through womanhood. Not really a fan of the idea of companies suggesting women only have value if they emulate men. They don't have to be like, act like, or look like men to be "just as good" as men. They can be women.

I love the touch the roadside flowers add to such a devastating scene. In the anime where the Strike Freedom kit comes from, one character remarks that flowers, no matter how beautiful, will always be blown away by someone. The pilot of the Strike Freedom replies that they can always be replanted, playing into shows themes. The final product though... GunDAMN does it look good.

Sisters of Silence aren't stupid. They are grimdark and special. They aren't flawed because they are female. Everything in Warhammer, every type of character or faction is in some way dark and flawed, that's the whole point of 40k. It's what makes the setting (made) so interesting. And now we move to making everything the same and mediocre. What's the point then? Isn't it fun to have something purely male and something purely female? It can make for some interesting characters. Talking equality: what about astra militarum or inquistioin? Lots of female heroes. Lots of female characters. total Equality. you are making stuff up, mate.

One of the most fun things I did was split the "Fury of the Deep" AOS box with a friend who lives in Liverpool. They loved the design of the deep sea elves, and I am a dwarf fanboi through and through. So, I took the angry fiery badgers, and they took the slippery twinks. And now we have an agreement to get the big centrepiece beasties for the respective armies and we're going to paint them as Blastoise and Charizard respectively ^^ Plus, I just share cool things I find online. Especially mythic americas by Warlord. I fully intend to just find a way to get both them and their partner into a variety of game we can unpack and play out of the box. ^^

Dragon Quest was my first RPG/Dungeon crawl. Such good memories!! I remember being aged… 10 or there about a and taking it on holiday with my grandparents to Germany and playing it with my Grandad, who was very bemused (and confused, don’t think he had a clue what was happening!) but still gave it a go with me!!!

If I valued a person as a friend, Warhammer is the last game I'd introduce them to.
As I used to do a lot more board game demos, I agree with you that a great way to get into the hobby is share it,. A 2 player starter set (like Fallout, Frostgrave, Blitz Bowl) or an inexpensive starting point like Gaslands will be a good start. If going this route with miniature game or RPGs is host a game night at a coffee shop or some place good for 2-4 people to have some fun gaming, get them into the game first then show off the time consuming but easy hobby part on making your own customized stuff. If you need people aside from who you know, look at coffee shops + local fb groups for board games as a hook to find more people as they are kinda in the hobby already on the games side.
