Changing The Front Struts On My Kubota Sidekick. I no longer have this machine.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Turns out this sidekick was a lemon. Bad Gas and water contamination of the crankcase oil. Recently Kubota has finally stepped up and replaced it.
Kubota sidekick factory struts must be replaced with heavy duty versions if you add a glass windshield to the machine. I added a winch and glass windshield that rendered the stock struts useless. First Kubota said just the springs can be changed but that was a lie and the springs I was sold could not be made to fit. Finally Kubota admitted the whole strut assemblies must be purchased and installed. This just shows how to change out factory struts for heavy duty struts. It's the only way to fix the handling of the machine if weight has been added.

I didn't think you were old enough to squeak yet. Thanks for watching.

@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 My ankle makes a snapping noise when I walk, it's been doing that for well over 20 years and I just turned 53. My knee does it now too. You sir (and my dad), are one of a kind. You just keep going, fixing and building. My father was like that until the end at 80 years old when he got ill. I wish I had that kind of drive, like when I was younger.
I enjoyed seeing that badge on the machine too!

They arw are priceless 😉. I put an Amazon link in the description. I bought a bunch for 6 bucks but now the price has risen. Tough keeping up with inflation. Very nice cast aluminum stickers. Thanks for watching.
Reminds me of changing battery on Ford focus. What should be a 2 minute job, takes an hour.

Engineers no longer worry about servicing machines. would have been easy to form the covers around that area for access. Thanks for watching.

This is the one I got amzn.to/3BjqLad had to modify the bracket to mount to the roof. It's a cheap lens and glares when faced into the sun. Thanks for watching.
Did you order the struts online? I didn’t see a link.

@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Thanks for your videos. I enjoy your approach to issues and the perspectives you share.
Personally, i would've gone with a set shocks that have a multiple adjustment points. I know, quite a bit more expensive, but this gives you the ability to reach in and adjust the way the front behaves (which matters more than the rear) not only specifically for your load, but also over time, as the shock's inner workings wear out. Keep this in mind for maybe later if you feel like you want to change the shocks. The rear's not that important on these short wheelbase vehicles, but the front is. Steering, ride, ride attitude, stuff like that. Cheers.

The struts are adjustable and the only ones made for this machine currently. Both sets have the bottom ring for adjustment. Thanks for watching.
That HF jack has 6 or so grease fittings. Hit ‘em with the grease gun and it might eliminate the creaking

Tried that. I think it's the cylinder squeaking. Gets worse on hot humid days. May try coating the cylinder with jack oil. It has been a good jack. Thanks for watching.
Nice job is that a 4' rake you added on the front? Thanks stay healthy

Yes it is a 4 ft Titan pine straw rake. really works good for light stuff. Going to put a hydraulic cylinder where the top link is to be able to grab the grass piles in the future. Thanks for watching.
