    You are a natural instructor. You have all the qualities a good teacher has. First of all it's a pleasure to listen to you and learn. You don't assume that we already know something and give great tips all through the oil change. I personally really appreciate your advice and expertise. Thanks, I learned a lot from you. Paul in Pensacola FL.

    A very good, detailed video on how to change the oil on this car. My mother recently got this model, and I haven't done anything but a valve cover gasket replacement and spark plugs. Your video is just long enough to tell you what you to do, assumes you have common sense to not need to see how 7 bolts are removed for the skid plate, and you give tips as you do the work to help make it easier. Thanks for this, will make the oil change much easier that I'm about to do.

    Hi, First time watching your video. Thank you! You are awesome!! just bought a used 2010 Mazda 6 and didn't even know where everything was located on my car. You would make an Excellent instructor no matter what you were teaching. I am retired after working 35 years as a Medical Technologist but I don't have the mechanical skills that you possess. It's great that you explain as if those watching are brand new to changing their oil. Now, I just need to change my transmission fluid (hint, hint lol) Thanks again.

    hi,i had a question what did you use in the gab whole of the oil wrench?

  • @ScottyOfAllTrades
    @ScottyOfAllTrades11 жыл бұрын

    You do not have to if the washer is in good shape. Inspect the plastic washer for cracks or if its not too compressed. If its soft metal it should be fine as long as its not deformed and you cant see an indent. Its a good idea to keep a new bolt/washer with your oil change stuff, so if you do need a new one you don't have to get a ride to the auto shop.

    Hi man, I got an EU Mazda 6 gg from 2006 with the 1.8i L-8 engine. When I bought it, I did not know what oil it had inside and when I changed it I poured 5w40 from MPM. It did not burned oil. Then I tried some Mazda dexelia 5w30 ultra and I had a trip of about 2200km in mid summer with high temperatures and also the car was fully loaded and 3 people inside it. When I got to the destination I noticed that the dipstick was o minimum level. I had trips before that one of about 800 km but it did not burned at all oil. So after the 2200km trip, I changed back to Liqui Moly 5w40 TopTech 4100 to see if there is a change in oil consumption bearing in mind I was driving in 40°c + and I tought I need a thicker viscosity at high temperatures but It didn't made a significant change. Should I get back to 5w30 because from what other's say, in the manual it does not show that you can put 5w40 in this engine. What's your tought on this?

    The proper tool (my 2008 Mazda CX-7 is 74 MM with 15 flutes) costs $2.99 on ebay, from China, or $5.99 at most of the Auto parts stores, such as O'Reilly's, Advance, Autozone... but Veterans with ID get 10% OFF! Be carefull to get the correct cap wrench for your Mazda, or Ford! Some parts listings are WRONG!

    if by chance you drain the oil and find out the filter is the wrong size can you put the new oil in and old filter to go back to the store

  • @ScottyOfAllTrades

    @ScottyOfAllTrades

    Thanks dmcadik for your question. My opinion would be to have a friend take you to the store for a new filter. Once you put the old filter in you could get contaminants introduced into you clean oil, which is why you are changing it in the first place. Best of luck.
