Just keep doing what your doing Mike. Just think of how far you already took that Sportster from laying on the ground in the weeds to a really good running and looking Harley-Davidson Sportster. I wonder what the last owner would think if he could see it now! You remind me of me! I also love restoring and getting machines back on the road. It becomes part of who you are And a reflection of your God given skills you are putting to good use.

When replacing oil filters, the recommended procedure is when the gasket first touches. 3/4 of a turn to tighten. It ha worked for me for 50 years. My father owned a repaid shop/service station all for 40 years. So I have done hundred is oil changes!

Right on! Just the right amount of tight!
I have a 1997 1200 Sportster and my motor oil drain is similar except that the hose has a plug mounted on the frame that you slide the hose over and then hose clamp the drain hose to.

Hi Mike, I've watched your films with HD as a hero. F a n t a s t i c ! Seems you're very well-mannered man, very kindly and you have what many people don't have: you can and you want to share your knowledge and experience. Drive motorbike over 40 years (last one - BMW) but watching your works with HD was very interesting, not to mention 'bout BBC and sauce :) Stay safe, stay healthy and TC. Hiya from Poland.

You need a clip on wireless microphone. The audio is hard to hear. And a good idea to change your fork tube fluid. Make sure if you do to have a two measuring cups with equal amounts of fluid. And lubricate your clutch and throttle cables.

that shifter peg looks a little high. & that shift linkage on the primary cover should be straight up & down. if it's ever slid down the road the linkage can strip & skip teeth on that shifter stud & leave your shifter in a high position like that.

5.75 or 5 & 3/4 will work! This light is bright and works well but I want to sell it and get the same light I installed on the C10 so they will match!
If you get a moment would you mind listing the name or some additional info on that handy dandy lil Harbor freight thingy ...and pass me one of those sliders please! Ha! The rocker box repair went well & brake pads are next...now you have me thinking about the forks seals and fluid too. As you said...Take care of what you have~ great advice always! @@UncleMike1776 hmmm, so many interesting bikes out there that need tender loving care. Don't have much time to reply, because of the holidays and stuff. How about something old in Japanese which a lot of people would be able to afford and they're lighter and less 600 lb ish like the Sportster. I own and write a 2007 Sportster myself and it's pretty heavy and parts are expensive so..... Maybe an easy to find not running Japanese bike that's available and easy to get parts for that anybody could work on and get running and be all happy with and say yeah I built this. Enjoy your show a lot got to go bye-bye
