Still a life saver 15 years later on windows 11

After using the StickyKeys backdoor to gain access to the Command Prompt, I couldn’t change the user passwords for some reason-so I followed your directions and made myself administrator, thereby overriding the existing user profiles and gaining access to Windows. Thank you!

This still worked to reset the administrators password in Windows 10 Pro, after I enabled it. Simple, yet effective !

Thanks - this was a life-saver. FYI: "user name" works if the name contains a space

hi, i'm having an issue with this, after put the name user ---- ------ *, i'm receiving a msg that says : the syntax of this command is : and give a couple of thing about user name password, delete & times that i don't really get it, please advice (also my User has first and last name, does have anything to do with what is happening?)

me too because you should run cmd as administrator and i dont know the password or the user for the admin

By using net user command to change administrator password, it shows system error 5 occurred

I had the message system error 5 has occurred access denied

So it didn’t work but thank you so much it just keep saying system error 5 has occurred access denied

If you get System 5 error - Access Denied: 1. Search "Command Prompt" on your Windows computer 2. Right Click on Command Prompt in the list 3. Click Run As Administrator 4. Continue following videos steps 5. Resolved .

You can change the password via CMD without even know the username nor the password, with this command : net user %USERNAME% NewPassword Hit enter and the password will change for the current user. If you want change the password for another user on your computer then type : net user, hit enter, get a user's name and type this command : net user The_Username NewPassword If it says : ACCESS DENIED, run the CMD window as and Administrator. You're Welcome Everyone. :)
