Yes! Please do half and half. I want to see how these perform. I've actually been slowly building my Chanel brush collection and this just confirmed and I need to go faster to catch the older versions as those feel like classics to me. I don't know how I feel about all this synthetic hair coming in. But we shall see!

In all honesty, go buy the old ones as soon as you can. These brushes are nice, but I really prefer the classic ones. The bristles deposit product better!

I prefer my old brushes too :( I enjoy the new ones but I don't feel like this was necessarily much of an upgrade.

Thank you for review. I am very interesting in new Chanel brushes. Would love to see video vs old brushes. Also will waiting for brushes updates- do they better than the old ones.

On the official Chanel website it says "LES PINCEAUX DE CHANEL are brushes made from a blend of natural and synthetic bristles". So I'm slightly confused as you've said the powder and precision powder brushes are definitely synthetic. I personally don't like synthetic brushes (especially powder ones) so have they just made a mistake on the website? I was considering getting them if they are a blend, but if they're definitely synthetic then I don't think I will. Thanks for your review regardless, really helpful!

What do you think of the retractable ones?

I think they're super convenient and that the price point is perfect :)

So sad that the old brushes are gone. But I'm very glad I learned they were being replaced before it happened and had enough time to get back ups for my brushes - while Macy's was doing a 15% off promotion too which was great! The new brushes just look cheap and not as well made to me. Not a fan of them at all.

I believe these brushes are not synthetic. I have lots of Japanese handcrafted brushes from Hakuhodo, Koyudo and Wayne Goss and they feel and look the same. Most of the Chanel face brushes are made in Japan and japanese brushes are known for natural hair bristles not synthetic. I think it’s goat hair either a saikoho or sokoho hair.

I went to training for Chanel hon 😊 we go twice a year for new launches where we are taught and debriefed about every aspect of any new product that comes out. The brushes are indeed synthetic with the exception of a few of them that are a combination of natural and synthetic (ie the stippling brush). However there is silk integrated into the fibers. Chanel used the highest quality of synthetic for its brushes and that’s why they feel so soft. I too have brushes by Hakuhodo and I actually am very close to a brush maker from Chikuhodo so I have quite a few of those too. I’m actually very well versed in brushes and brush making. Just because some are crafted in Japan, it doesn’t mean that they are crafted in the same manner or utilize the same techniques as Hakuhodo or Chikuhodo or Koyudo.

Actually the bristles are only specified on Nordstrom.com and not on Chanel.com last time I checked. I'm just relaying information back to you that I learned from the Chanel Beaute Educator. Per my previous response, there is an "exception of a few of them that are a combination of natural and synthetic". I gave the stippling brush as an example, however, it by no means was the only example. I'm glad you wanted to include the powder brushes in the category and I'm glad you do your research. But like I said, most of the brushes are synthetic with the exception of a few of them that are blends. We were educated on precisely which brushes are comprised of what material.

I chatted with a person on Chanel dot com and asked very specific about the brushes. The rep said the powder brush is fully goat hair.
