I smelled this at Dillards department store here in Colorado last week and immediately fell in love with this scent, smells way better than the original Gabrielle!!!

So I’m a guy and I wear the essence - something about how it mixes with me completely throws people off and they can’t believe I’m wearing this scent. It smells very fresh on me and I get constant compliments and surprise when I tell them it’s “women’s” perfume. I only use 1 or 2 sprays and that’s all I need. It stays fresh smelling and great all day.

I generally find a lot of Chanel’s fragrances can be worn by either gender, however I don’t feel the same about No.5 and the Chance fragrances. I list those mostly because I don’t like No.5 at all and I find the Chance fragrances quite “teenage”

That’s awesome. I like to wear women’s perfumes at times too. Perfume was originally unisex but I think it was CHANEL No.5 that changed that historically. Another good woman’s scent on a man is Opium.

Thank you for your comparison video! I do not have any Chanel perfumes. The 🍑, 🥥 and vanilla with white florals has me intrigued!

I appreciate the good review. Many people over look these two because everybody hates on Gabrielle and Essence for no reason. You did it justice.

I also wasn't a huge fan of the original Gabrielle perfume so I am very excited to try the Essence version. I also saw that they have a hair mist so I'm quite excited to try that out as well.

I smelled this in a flier sent from Ulta and was immediately interested. I remember thinking that I had smelled it before but then I looked again and saw the ESSENCE at the bottom and then knew it wasnt the same. So, I may have to get this. Christmas would be a good time. Put it in line with all the other Chanel fragrances I want.;) Thanks for your reviews, Soki. Love your thoroughness.

So thankful O watched your video because I went out and purchased the essence Chanel and I am in love, so sad that I am not a Chanel no 5 but this smell is amazing !

I felt in love with Chanel Essence, something mysterious happened to me when I bought it, then I discovered taht they are using orange flowers of my country Tunisia

I really want to like essence because it’s one of the few Chanel perfumes that I think actually smells nice on my skin. A lot of their perfumes do not mix well with my skin chemistry like they do on others. However, I feel like essence disappeared so quick on me that I can’t really justify paying $100 for a small bottle. I find that coco mademoiselle lasts all day and this one just did not.

Great video as always lovely ! I need to follow ladies perfume better and you help me . I didn't know that this flanker was comming.

Love the original, but I want the 5 oz. , but Macy’s doesn’t carry the 5 oz. and I have a gift card, so I’m considering the essence. I absolutely love the Gabrielle. Got so many compliments when wearing it. I really liked the original, but I’ll try the essence. 😝

The main difference according to Chanel is the addition of Tuberose, In the essence. Surprised you didn’t mention this. It was love at first smell with original Gabrielle, will try the essence💜🌸

I was so dissapointed in the original after the long wait of a "new" Chanel Fragrance. In saying that, I was sent a sample of Gabrielle Essence last week and I was gob-smacked, it is lovely and I think a different fragrance. So pretty! Yes, I picked up the lovely peach and berries and coconut too that balances so well with the white florals and musk and wood dry down. I agree with all you said. I also think that Margot Robbie really suits the ad Campaign too..plus she is an Australian like me- a bonus! :-D

I haven’t tried the Essence yet, but I am in love with the original Gabrielle. And on me it is a very sophisticated fragrance: not too flowery, a little bit cold, yet soft. I got the smallest version (it’s 25 ml if I’m correct) to see if I love it enough to repeat it in full size.

Thank you, Soki. I live in US and they told me here at the Chanel counter that the new Gabriella essence contains more tuberose than the original. I too tried it on and loved the after note on my skin after a few hours. So maybe tuberose is a combo of all those other notes you mention. Agree it is lovely. Not sure I will purchase when it comes out later this week. (Friday in SoFla).

Gabrielle Essence is more interesting and lively compared to the Gabrielle original perfume. It hasn't been launched yet in Canada so I'm waiting to try it out. Thanks for sharing.

I personally like the original version better than the Essence because I am not a big fan of vanilla and coconut notes in perfumes,,, I do not like how they become so warm on my skin. I much prefer the citrus white florals in the original :)

I have the original Gabrielle. I really like it. I find it to be day appropriate and also for almost any kind of occasion. It lasts many hours. I am disappointed to see so many people throw shade at it. Maybe Chanel’s marketing dept is guilty of possibly overly marketing its place in the fragrance world, but none the less, it is a lovely fragrance. I am glad I purchased it❤️

Hi, my dear! Just to chime in a little. Everyone’s skin is different so what might not work on u... might work for me. Because, there are a lot of Chanel perfumes that last on my skin for several hrs. And I’m 52😜

I'm 4 years late. I am expecting the essence as one of my free gifts. I'm excited now! I was a teen in the 90's and I just can't find anything better than Tommy Girl.

It was helpful. I'm intrigued with the essence. Do you have it in your collection?

If you like gourmands and want to give the original Gabrielle a nice twist, layer it with Carolina Herrera Good Girl. I did that on a whim and it smelled amazing!

I'm waiting for Gabrielle Dame de La Nuit, featuring roses (Bulgarian and Tea) combined with a deeper white floral heart (adding in lush gardenia) and finished off with clean leather, creamy sandalwood and sheer musk in the base. Now, if they actually create something even remotely resembling that, I want my royalty checks LOL!

Absolutely LOVE the essence one, but do you know any dupes for it, or something that is similar to it? Perhaps with a more affordable prize? I have a really hard time finding other perfumes that I like after having this as my go to for a year now. I've come to realize that I am very picky when it comes to perfumes and fragrance...

I wonder what the projection is like with Gabriel essence. If you have it, could you comment? I like to be able to smell my perfume in the air around me.

althougt is my name in french, the Original Gabrielle it was nice but to ordinary :( i totally agree whit you on the underwealm feel.

A question , Why does chanel makes the stickers on the perfumes loose? I mean why not inprint the chanel logo in the bottle. If you pay such much money for a chanel perfume and the logo is not even intprinted it can easily get off and there you have a bottle without a chanel logo.

What perfume brand "name" last longer than 4 hours??? You know the beautiful smells that linger in the elevator when someone gets off or you're walking to get in your car or go into a store and someone has walked by the same area with a gorgeous perfume on and the smell just stays where they walked but they're nowhere to be found, and a woman walked by me with the most beautiful strong scent but you don't dare ask what perfume are you wearing so you really never know the name. Sooo WHAT IS IT? What lasts??¿ Thank you

Another KZreadrs said original smelled unisex heavily ?!? I'm not into the men's fragrances & I like a lighter fragrance !! MY Question is, does the NEW Version smell more girly.. I haven't been able to get out to sample boutiques and malls are pretty far from my location

I like the sound of the both. I’ve never been steered towards Gabrielle. Always to Coco M and Chance. I don’t like either of those on my skin. They smell stunning but my skin tends to kill every perfume. Unless it’s clean, citrus and white florals it smells like an old lady’s toilet spray 😂

Oh my goodness! BOTH original Gabrielle and Gabrielle Essence are made by 4 and 4 flowers ONLY (Jasmine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and Grasse tuberose). The notes are more balanced in the original Gabrielle therefore on some skin type the smell of jasmine is more noticeable than the other notes that’s why it gives it a more “white flowery smell”. However, to change the results Chanel has added 10x more tuberose in Gabrielle essence and heightened the other ingredients as well. This helped the fragrance to have a bit more sweeter and warmer floral finish ( by still using the same 4 flowers NOTHING ELSE) there is NO WOOD or PEACH found in these fragrances! Please visit the fragrance counters and ask questions to the specific brand’s sales representatives before doing review videos.

the original.... should be quietly discontinued... xD
