Thanks for your in-depth reviews. Glad that Zendaya, Mike, Josh and Luca did their jobs wonderfully well. I just wish CHALLENGERS were a more wholesome film, especially since it's Zendaya's very first Lead role in a Major Motion Picture. She deserves wholesome roles. If Tom Hanks could play good guy roles for Decades, a black GIRL should be able to. Quite frankly, it seems kind of racist to have her in this. Would they have handed this unwholesome script to a young Sandra Bullock? For one reason only do I hope CHALLENGERS is successful at the box office and that is so Zendaya, as a producer, can make enough money to fund her own Wholesome films.

Challengers is easily my new favorite film of 2024. Killer tennis action, insane Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross score, Luca's creative direction, frenetic editing and cinematography, and captivating acting.

It's up there for me as well, Luca Guadagnino just doesn't miss at this point. I really hope this film gets Oscar love because its such a blast and so intentional in its direction and storytelling. I love how you can enjoy this as a fun movie and there is plenty to dissect if you want to do that too.

@@kaneeddy Challengers is as great as Call Me by Your Name. I hope it just didn't come out too early to get Oscars because I want the 3 leads to get nominated at least.

I would love for this to get so much Oscar love. This year it’s hard to predict if it will but Challengers will definitely be one of the best movies of the year hands down.

What is your definition of perverted or gross ?

Fair question- I did have concerns that this film could have only focused on just the looks of the characters with no depth and all about the sexual tension. I have seen films where directors have gotten carried away with that and it felt perverted and indulgent from the film makers. A lesser director might have gone down that route in Challengers. Thankfully Luca Guadagnino has always known where to put the line where that tension is there but the characters are also really human and complex. Zendaya’s Tashi is one of the most interesting characters I have seen all year and I am glad that we got that rather than what some people might have thought this movie could have been from the initial trailers including me at times. I should never have doubted Guadagnino because as I said he knows where to put the line in the sand and create a brilliant film.
