Challenger 4WD | 4WD Trip # 28 | The Lost City | A Lithgow 4 x 4 Adventure | Mud Madness & Rock Art

We left Sydney for Lithgow and then into the Newnes State Forest. We have a 2nd vehicle with us, Mark driving his 2015 Nissan Patrol. We headed out to the striking 'pagodas' of the Lost City first and explored them. Then we 4wd back out through the wombat holes and mud to Blackfellows Hand Trail. We travelled that through more mud to Blackfellows Hands Cave to view the incredible rock art. One of the best 4WD day trips from Sydney without a doubt. The tracks were full of muddy bog holes due to recent bad weather events and so much fun to drive. Please like, comment, share and subscribe for more videos. lithgow-tourism.com/blackfell...

Great video thanks. Just the right amount of information to make it really interesting and provide adequate context. Seeing the damage from the fire you wonder if it will ever recover. I guess only time will tell. How fascinating to compare this trip to your previous one. Cheers.

Another great video. We've taken the Triton to the Lost City three times this year (track has degraded somewhat due to the weather and traffic) and up Blackfellows once a couple of months ago. The bog holes mid winter had a lot more water - a lot! I approached a couple of the bigger ones apprehensively but they were fine.

Thanks Brett. It was a surprise I must say. The one near the end of Blackfellows was like a mini gunshot creek! 😀 All those fourbys parked were walking up to see what the track was like further before they went through it. But yes, heaps of fun. 👍🏻😀

Can you confirm if you can take the dog on this trip and if there is any camping spots along the way. By the way you great informative videos. Used them to do all the belangalo state forest

Thanks mate, Lost City is def dog friendly as is a lot of Newnes Plateau, except Gardens of Stone which is National Park. The Hands Cave is in a reserve managed by NPWS so maybe not dog friendly, although I’m not 100% sure. You can drive through a park with a dog of course. 😀👍🏻

The bottom end of Blackfellows has changed. 3 months ago it had a bit of a rut where the water ran and the one big water hole half way up but none of the deep shorter holes you experienced. Looks more fun.

Great video! Curious, do you think a lift RAV4 with AT tyres could make the Blackfellows hand trail? Heading up to Newnes soon and thought maybe give it a go. Cheers, Andrew

Thanks Andrew, it’s dried out a lot apparently so yes I’m sure the RAV4 will do it. Travelling with another vehicle is always best though.🤙🏼

@@Challenger4WD yeah I saw that 😮. I think it was 3 weeks ago so hopefully dried up since then. If I go I’ll be going around any bog holes.

Great video, I think it's better for you to skip the intro and the 'whats to come' because we all really clicked for the title of the video and know what to expect, will also save you some time editing, and the replays too, more action is what everyone wants. Keep up the good vids
