I’m not a novice crafter, so through trial and error and over the years of crafting, I figured this out on my own. BUT, this is extremely helpful for new crafters!! Wish you would’ve been around when I first started crafting! And KZread would’ve helped too! 🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️

With chalk paint you don’t need primer just a couple of coats. Acrylic paint you would definitely need a primer since it’s so much thinner than chalk paint.

They’re both acrylic! One is a matte finish or “chalk”. I was hoping for a difference between acrylic matte finish and real chalk paint.

Can oil paint be applied over chalk paint?

Yes! you can apply oil paint over Chalk or Acrylic paint but you should not apply chalk or acrylic paint over oil paint especially if the oil paint has a gloss finish.

I looked at your chalk paint and it has acrylic in it?…doesn’t real chalk paint have minerals in it instead? Help!
